All pretty good answers, but I think I have a better one.
If the "smoke" smells like burning oil, then you have bad rings or a cracked piston.
If it smells sweet, kind of like maple syrup, then it is steaming antifreze caused by a blown head gasket, leaking intake manifold or some other cause of water getting into the combustion chamber. Check your oil, if it looks milky on the dipstick, you have a big problem and will probably need a complete engine rebuild.
Clear water is a normal by-product of combustion. Perfect combustion produces carbon and water - usually in vapor form. This vapor condenses back into water as it travels down the exhaust pipe.

your coolant is shot and should be decrease back flushed and altered for sparkling coolant and use distilled or purified water with thecoolant and make helpful the coolant has a water pump lube in it. purchase a sparkling radiator cap too they do circulate undesirable. as some distance because of the fact the on an identical time as smoke are you in basic terms talking approximately interior the morning for 5 or ten minutes whilst the motor vehicle is chilly? the place you get some water vapor burning off from interior themuffler and pipe whilst it cools down in the time of the nighttime on chilly nights? it may disappate and disappear presently as quickly because of the fact the motor vehicle warms up. in case you're talking approximately super clouds of steam that imprecise the entire community in the back of the motor vehicle and you are able to not see the automobiles in the back of you because of the extensive steam clouds pumping out the tailpipe this is a blown head gasket and it should be mounted.

Get under the hood and check ALL the fluid levels on a regular basis. If any keeps dropping, look for a crack or leak and make the appropriate repairs or replacement.

like the man said it is a cracked or warped head. if it is only the head gasket, be sure and take the head to a machine shop and get it checked and re-surfaced, even if it looks good and straight, if not you will end up blowing the gasket again
