Okay. When my car hits 1 1/2 to 2 on the RPM, the brake and battery light come on. It's a '97 Altima, and I don't think the alternator/battery has ever been replaced. When I get to 4 on the RPM, they begin to blink. Last night, while driving home, my CD would cut off for no reason, then right back on. And when I parked it at home, I came out fifteen minutes later and it wouldn't start. I'm almost sure it's the battery/alternator .... what do you guys think? (and i've checked my brake fluid, it's fine)

here is a way to check your alternator, start your car and disconnect the negative post on your battery,if car stops running, your alternator is bad,if your car still runs, it probably the battery, check all your battery post for corrosion, and clean good.hope that helps.

it is your alternator, when alternator do not charge battery volts go low so ABS brakes can not operate , so as a warning brake light comes on, and also these days all cars design like that if alternator give up or battery volt get low, computer cuts out accessaries, CHANGE YOUR ALTERNATOR U WILL BE FINE

Bad battery cables, Loose/corroded/broken at terminal ends. Voltage regulator inside of Alt. is bad. Check the main fuse/relay box near the battery for burned or shorted fuses or relays.

Not realy your altenator.first see if its not the small shining goody inside the alternator called a rectifyer witch is responsible for charrging the battery.
