I bought a new Impala when I came home from boot camp in April, 1972. I drove that car until I was injured on the job in Sept.2002. It had been coast to coast six times and had well over 300,000 miles on it. I changed the timing chain at 125,000 miles and had the transmission rebuilt at 250,000 miles.

Well for me it was and still is a 1996 Nissan 200sx ES-R. I have over 200,000 miles on it (odometer when out) and drove it in college to now. I had to replace the alternator (I was going way to fast and popped it, over 120 mph, I took the governor off (usually 91 is the top speed and you hit that in 4th pretty easy)). I drove the car fast and hard a lot and did not have many repaired needed. Same clutch, transmission, and engine in the car. Changed the brakes, spark plugs, and wires once. Then just usually things like oil ever so often (once it looked dirty sometimes in 8,000 miles sometimes less). I do not repair or replace things I do not need, like the odometer which I was told would cost over a grand. I would not get another Nissan with friends getting the cars and having major issues. Nissan does not help people out at all. Also they act like it is okay to have known failing parts and they will not okay the recalls and make people pay out of pocket for them.

Best car I ever had and actually still have is an 82 Chevy Citation. It had the 2.5 tbi engine in it and altho it made noises inspired by nightmares that engine NEVER let me down once, I was putting 1,600 miles on it A WEEK and it just wouldnt stop. I finally removed the 2.5 Ironduke and dropped 3.1MPFI in and altho I have had a few little issues here and there I can honestly say Its the best car Ive ever owned and refuse to ever get rid of her :) in terms of miles I pulled the 2.5 out at 135k miles and the 3.1mpfi currently has 240k miles and still going strong

An 85' Mercedes 300TD (turbo diesel station wagon.)
If it wasn't totaled in an accident, I'd still be driving it. I had it for 20 years and drove it in any imaginable conditions (in stop and go traffic in hot weather, in the snow, long distance driving, short trips, etc.) The car had 200,000 miles on the clock and almost NO repairs at all. Just normal things like oil changes, breaks, some hoses and belts...
VERY dependable car!

01 Mustang GT Premium convertible. I had it for 4 years and always kept the top down. If I couldn't drive it with the top down, if stayed in the garage. I only had 4K miles on it and I had to have the AC compressor replaced.
Wife wanted a bigger car to get the grand kids safety seats in the back area, so we sold it. Broke my heart.
My 77 Vette was the next best one.
