My Ford thunderbird car won't start. It was working fine and then the next day won't start. We tried to jump it and still won't turn on. When we try to start it it starts doing the normal sound and then kind of squeeks and makes the sound but like slower, like sppining. I don't know how to explain! any ideas???

BTW the car had a oil leak and we replaced the oil every other week.

There are two caps on the top of my car battery, I was curious and popped them off with ease. I found three holes under each of the covers with a liquid in the holes (assuming battery acid) I then replaced the caps which look like that had rubber seals that went into the holes. Since I have done this my battery has lost considerable power it seems and its quite difficult to start my car, which never was a problem before (I can see the battery gauge go down to the red).

Someone did a hit and run on my friend's car and now his driver side back wheel made noises when she turns around corners...when i looked underneath i spotted that this large piece of a bar was broken off:

http://hidebehind.com/3A7108

This vehicle is a: 1991 MERCEDES-BENZ 190E 2.3

Questions:
1. What is this broken piece called?

2. What does it do and is it the reason the car makes sounds at this tire?

3. How much does it cost to fix?

4. Can my friend fix it herself since it appears to just use large bolts?

And finally if you look at this picture: http://hidebehind.com/71C875
Can someone tell me how to take off the tire of this car...I tried using a socket wrench and correct size of socket on this bolts you see in this picture but it doesnt seem to come off. It is as if those aren't really bolts and are just for design...My friend has never changed her tire before so she doesn't know either. It is as if the tire is locked on...Do mercedes vehicles have a special locking system

I have a Dodge Ram van 1500 conversion with a 318 engine. I need this van to tow 6000 pounds comfortably. The rear is geared at 355.

Is there anything (other than a bore job) I can do to the 318? More importantly, what does it take to get a 360 or greater in the van?

I have found the 318 tows my rig well until we get to a stiff hill. Then it is challenged.

Let me know if I need to provide more data!

Thanks for the help.

I own a 1985 Pontiac Parisenne with a .305 engine. This car should typically be a quiet ride but it is abnormally loud but I don't know what the problem is or what part of the car is making it loud. I don't think its the muffler because its from under the hood. Can anybody help with this?

Basically looking for a miracle I suppose. When I start my car, the car has problems shifting. Most of the time it's a hard shift, sometimes the gears slip. Basically it sounds horrible, and it does it everytime the car shifts. Here's the caveat. If I wait for the engine to warm up AND re-start the car, everything works fine. Just the engine warming up itself doesn't change anything as I actually have to stop and restart the car.

Took it to a transmission guy and he looked at it. Thought there might be some electrical problem, but in the end he thought it was something inside the transmission. So I'd have to spend some serious cash to get that fixed. Which isn't worth it given the age of the car.

So I'm wondering if there is anything else that could be wrong with it without having to fix the transmission. It seems odd the the car works fine after I restart it when the engine heats up. Thanks for the help.

I just bought a new 2007 Yaris (has 5000 miles) and i've only driven it for 3 weeks now and about 150 miles and this morning going to work (about a 5 min drive) the coolant light came on. I checked the level and it was at HIGH. Is that ok or what could be going on? I don't want a car that overheats on me before I've made my first payment!

Hello i asked this question a few days ago but i left out a few details.....i recently purchased a 1997 pontic trans am....with 76000 miles on it....and when i brought it home there was engine coolant on the driveway.....and i think that was because the seller did not know the first think about a car and he just added so much coolant right to the top and it busted through the cap when i parked it in my driveway....also there is a light brown sludge or paste on the bottom of the stick....((((i know that alot of cars dont have a coolant check stick but this one does)))) so my first guess it would have to be a head gasket....but i just did a engine compression test on all 8 cylinders and they came out with 200-210 pounds of pressure which would indicate that the head gaskets are good....my question is why is there that sludge on the bottom of the engine coolant stick.....also the car does start to overheat when left on for about 20 mins but when i turn the heat on it seems to get cooler.
