well the other day i was going to show my friend about a possible oil leak and i reved the engine a bit to get it to heat up then all of a sudden my whole enging was smoking i went and looked under the car and i had coolant gushing all over the place, it wasnt coming from the front of the car more like the passenger side near the rear of the Engine after looking for what seems like hours i cannot seem to locate it,however i dont have anything but a jack to lift the car up with and knowing that isnt safe wasnt risking it. i am not tooo well off with money atm just having a son and all so wanna do the repair myself i know its a hose b/c of how much coolant i lost within a few short seconds and was wondering if someone could give a few tips on locating the hose and some repair advice, as this is my first car and i am not very savy with this stuff.
Thanks Chris

Hi, I have a 94 Honda Accord. I went to get the oil change on the car. The guy said he couldn't change it ,because something near or on the oil filter was leaking. Anyway, I was not able to repair the car at the time.I had been putting motor oil in it ,when it wouldn't start . It worked fine for about two weeks. Recently, It would not start;so I put 2 bottles of motor oil in it and it still will not start. Can anyone help? I'm trying to save money up for the repair. Does anyone know if this is a major problem? Can anyone tell me what I can do just to drive to the repairman?

My truck is 2001 chevy silverado 1500. Runs great. I've never had a problem with it. During a routine check, we found out that one of the spark pugs is pretty much shot.

I was driving and I heard a clunk and 2 of the bolts were missing and then I turned and 2 more shot off and my tire was being held on by one bolt. It's not just the nuts that fell off the entire bolt threads snapped off from rust. What is this piece called? Estimated replacement cost? My car is a 1997 Dodge Stratus ES 6 cyl.

I think the leak is at an external tube outside the engine block.

I find myself without a right foot now and need to drive to work. I'm hoping it is possible to convert a 5 speed manual transmission to an automatic transmission. Google gave me no answers and I have no idea where to start.
Is it even possible to do? Any idea of cost? Time needed?
Thanks

I'm afraid it's a Head Gasket. The car runs great when 1st started but will overheat and the reservoir will empty itself.

I cannot see where the fluid is going, if anywhere outside the engine. Oil is Black, but need a definitive test to determine if blown head gasket?

Weird that if it's blown head gasket, would it not run rough?

If it is blown head gasket, it's not worth fixing, according to a mechanic or two that I've spoken to.

Apparently the 3.5 dohc is a real bear to repair and aluminum heads.

Any help out there? Any Suggestions where to start? I'm a backyard mechanic with medium skills and tools.

thank you, Dave in Nashville, TN

Will the higher octane ( more expensive stuff) make my engine run better or last longer? I'm just wondering if it's worth putting in expensive gas or should I keep using the cheapest?

a/c unit can never run out, unless it has a fault, as it is a sealed unit. Is this so? I thought a/c just naturally ran its course and had to be recharged every so often. Any clues?

I have a 98 Dodge Ram with the extended cab, my hubby was putting the sprinklers on it while his car was safe and sound in the garage, and now I have hard water stains on the windows and the body, but I am more concerned with removing it safely off the windows since it is getting hard to see out the wondows, especially at night. I made him hlep me make a spot where I can put my truck so it will no longer get the spots, but after washing it and trying to clean the windows I realize that I need some sound advice to get it back to crisp clean shape.

I'm so pissed. Took car in for alignment, asked if it need all 4 wheels done and he specifically told me that no, that's only on 4 wheel drive cars. So I made an appointment for front end alignment.... cost $49... all 4 would have been $75. Went to pick it up and they did all 4 anyway. Is this right? do I have a right to be pissed????

I just got a ring set for a good price and I don’t know how to install them! Do I need any special tools? I also got a gasket set.

This is the first time I have ever done something like this. Do I need to do anything to the cylinder? Someone told me I need to brush it out but with what? I don’t know!!! Also will this help the startup smoke that my ATV has? Will it give it more power & save gas and oil??? Is it kind of like rebuilding the motor?? Please help
