...But only when I run the air conditioner. It's a '99 Ford F-150.
Runs fine, and never had any trouble until this. The A/C works fine, and when I turn the A/C off, the temp. guage goes back to normal. Anybody know what this is from?

helpless-carless-broke.. female posting another plea for vehicle advice!
I have a 1989 Nissan Pathfinder.
I can fully charge the battery and drive it about 30 feet- then it dies again- I put the battery charger back on and there is no juice left. I have tried using a different / new battery..same thing happens.
I am pretty sure after talking to a few car pros that I either need to replace the alternator or the battery cables.
The thing is- #1 I can't figure out how to tell exactly what model number it is(its a 4WD but I don't know how you tell 4 or 6 CYL etc...so I can get the replacement part.
#2 I have seen pictures of the alternator but I am not sure where it is located in my vehicle.Everything looks the same to me. HAHA! I need to locate it so I can take it out-then to go get it tested to verify it is actually indeed the alternator.
guess I shoulda married a car salesman!

I have this 1994 Eagle Talon DL version. It has the 1.8 liter motor which has mess up already. According to 3 mechanics I have ask, it will cost me about $600 to fix the motor. A year and a half ago I spend $400 for some piston that broke. The car has 131,199 original miles and the only thing that is wrong with it is the motor. Can anybody tell me where can I get a remanufacture engine? Thanks

My car wont start all of a sudden, when I tried to jump start it, the lights started working and the power locks and windows..etc and the engine feels like it is about to start up then dies again on the last minute, do u think i have a bad battery or something is wrong with the alternator? how can I find out for sure?

Jiffylube stripped my oil pan when the changed my oil. I have a Mazda 6. I took it to a place to have it looked at cause theres oil leak and said that the drain can be re-tapped or I have to get the oil pan replaced.

How much is retapping the oil pan going to cost? Is that something thats going to be cheap? I went to shucks to see if they have the rubber plug there but they said that it was only a temporary fix and they dont have anything I can fix it with.

my rim has a couple of dents on the edge of them and i took it to a tire place and it seemed like they shoved a bunch of plugs in it so the air wouldnt come out of it..i was just wondering if any1 out there cant explain this to me..and wat might have caused the dents on the edges of them?

I replaced my steering wheel on an olds intrigue, the manufactures steps for disconnecting the srs system were followed. But the air bag light is now on and I dont want to pay the dealer to do the diagnostic. Everything is hooked back up properly and auto zone and other places i have tried dont have diagnostic testers with srs capability. Thanks in advance for any help!

i've been told that it is very difficult to see while driving with limo tints.(ex. reversing or lookin out back) but at the same time i want black tints where no1 can see, and it looks really good. i'd really apreciate for ur advice

You put positive on positive of live and dead battery. And negative on the live battery and then put the negative on a engine block?

I'm driving an 07 Nissan Sentra that has pretty much been a disaster since i bought it. First the Power steering went, then the ignition went. The car has 4000 miles on it!!!!!!! Now the brake light stays on eventhough the parking brake is off. The light does go off when I hit the regular brakes, but comes bake on when I hit the gas. What the hell is wrong with my P.O.S. car?!!!

Today my 97 Plymouth Breeze started smoking. The smoke was coming from the air-conditioner compressor (or the belt). The car was brought to a main-stream auto repair shop, where I was told I would need a new compressor and various other parts totaling $1200 + tax. I asked if the A/C could just be bypassed and was told it could not.

After speaking with various other people and auto-parts stores, I discovered that not only was it possible to bypass the A/C, but there is actually a part called a 'bypass pulley.' I was also told that by simply turning the A/C off, the belt would be free to move.

I guess my question is really how to bypass the A/C and would turning the A/C off fix the problem on a seized compressor (vs. just a compressor that simply wasn't working, but not seized).

I have a 96 Ford Contour with 150,000 miles on it. A while ago it started running lean and would be hard to crank. When I cranked it, especially mornings or when low on gas, it would automatically go dead. This could happen up to three or four times until I really hit the gas and got it going, but once it got going it ran just fine. I thought it might be the fuel injector. Today as I was on my way home it lost acceleration and died. I assumed it was out of gas since it was on E, but when I went back to put gas in it tonight it wouldn't crank. I pumped the gas but it kept doing this wierd blinking thing, combined with a clicking noise. The windshield wipers started up and the lights inside started blinking as the engine tried to crank. I couldn't get it cranked. It was too dark to look at it but going back tomorrow, just seeing if anyone has any ideas. This morning it was especially hard to crank and would barely start before automatically going dead. PLEASE HELP I AM A POOR STUDENT.

How can I stop the morning dew on my car windows. Every morning beforeI leave for work I must wipe down all the windows because of the dew. Does anyone have a home remdy to stop it from sticking onto the windows. Tried anti fogger and that didn't work.

I have a 2002 Jeep Liberty Ltd that has been well maintained by the dealership. The day after I refueled, the check engine light came on. It stayed on for 3 days during normal driving and came off for 2 days. When it came back on, I replaced my gas cap and disconnected the negative cable for 15 min. When I turned the car back on, the check engine light was gone. After 2 days of normal driving, the light came back. I do not want to get ripped off by dealer. They can and will tell me anything!!! GOT ANY MORE IDEAS?

i recently painted the interior of my truck with dupli-color vinyl and fabric interior spray paint. i used gloss black on the dash and doors it looked good . but its only been a few months and its already coming off. is there any seal or coat i can use to help prevent it when i repaint it?

The anti-lock light stays on and so does the brake light continueously(when the car is running). When you hold the brake pedal to the floor and start the car they(the lights) stay off, but as soon as you release the brake pedal there is a clicking sound like a solenoid going off and the lights come back on. I had new brakes(pads front only) installed and new rotors as well, plus bled the brake lines. I thought that would take care of the problem but it didn't and the lights are still on. Any answer's?.

I've got a ticking noise on my 95 Trooper with 74K that sounds for all the world like a sticky lifter. I've put ATF in it, put in Marvel Mystery Oil, even filled the crankcase up with Kerosene and let it run just above idle for 20 minutes. None of these work.
I went on a road trip of 200 miles, and that cleared it up for maybe another 100.
I had the intake cleaned with BG, and that cleared up the noise for about 3000 miles. Since I have been using CRC intake cleaner, and that works for about 100 miles.
A tech at a shop told me there was a TSB out on Troopers, to run zero weight oil in order to clear up a ticking noise. Another tech told me the first guy was trying to get me to ruin my engine.
Anyone have any experience with this problem on this vehicle? I would have the heads yanked and the valves looked at, but the only tech I trust refuses to work on Troopers. I don't have the time or the experience to do it myself.
