...But only when I run the air conditioner. It's a '99 Ford F-150.
Runs fine, and never had any trouble until this. The A/C works fine, and when I turn the A/C off, the temp. guage goes back to normal. Anybody know what this is from?

First make sure the electric fan is coming on when your air conditioner is turned on. Second, make sure nothing is clogging the front of the radiator, third, flushing the radiator and adding new coolant with one of the "cooling agents" additives.

If it happens while your driving down the road, it's probably a clogged radiator. 8 years is about an average life for some models. The AC radiator heats up the air going to the engine radiator when the AC is on, so a marginal engine radiator won't get the job done.

Your A/C system is running too high head pressure, and is transfering heat into the radiator, check for overcharge, and airflow thru condensor coil.
