I don't see why not, Just hook up the cord directly to the battery, should work just fine. Hpoe this hope this doesn't help.

no lie, i saw just the other day an old lincoln town car with a window unit duct taped in passenger side rear window and a gas powered generator bolted to the trunk. and yes this was in the south.

Just run the extension cord into the cabin. Shouldn't be a worry as I'm sure the truck in up on blocks in your front yard...

yes make sure that you run an AC inverter that can handle the amps required by the air conditioner and also that you use a high output alternator.

yes you can do it, all you have to do is get a powerful enough dc to ac power inverter that can put out enough watts to power the ac unit, then i would suggest that you wire it directly to the battery and also run an inline fuse thats big enough to handle the amps. you alternator may not be up to the task, so that may have to be upgraded.

Might be a bit expensive. You will need a power inverter to supply the ac voltage. I have no idea of your alternator output, but you might have to upgrade your alternator to help carry the load.
