when i accelarate the a/c will stop blowing air and change the air flow direction to the back (windshield) and when i stop accelerating it will return back to normal. This will not happen if accelarte gently
...only when i floor it

the car is Caprice LTZ year 2000

Because you have a vacuum leak. The vent controls are vacuum powered and when you accelerate the vacuum pressure goes down and the controls quit functioning properly.
The leak could be under the hood or in the vent controller.

There is a ac cut off switch connected to the accelerator linkage or through a sensor for the computer. Under WOT(wide open throttle) the air conditioner cuts off so the engine can produce maximum horsepower.

Probably normal; many cars have a switch to cut off the ac when you floor it. The assumption is that it must be an emergency if the go-pedal is mashed to the floor- -

Vacuum operated motor doesn't have enough vacuum , so it goes to the default position
Vacuum canister or one of the lines are leaking.
