My Escape started making a noise at about 35,000 miles. At the time the dealership said it was the tires. I replaced the tires. The noise did not change at all and now has progressively worsened and now they are telling me the right, left AND center wheel bearings need to be replaced (at my expense since now the car has 42,000 miles). They did say the bearings are still sealed and there is no water damage and no other obvious damage. I think they must be defective and Ford should replace them as from what I understand it would be very unlikely for all 3 to just go out at 35,000 miles. I'd like to know if Ford has addressed this problem for anyone else and also if anyone has any ideas on how to make Ford provide the parts and repairs at no cost to me.

I'm wondering an automotive water pump can run in reverse if supplied with pressurized water. If it can, then I could hook up an alternator to its pulley and theoretically get power from it. I'm researching alternative energy and am brainstorming different options to pump water into a storage tank (by windmill most likely), then to take the power from it... be it a water wheel, water pump, whatever. If you know if the pump works in reverse, please let me know. Sorry, not interested in guesses! Thanks!

the trans on my wife’s 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ceira was slipping. I checked the tans level while the car was idling and engine hot before I put the conditioner in the fluid, the level was just at top line indicating completely full. but I put the quart of conditioner in anyways.

do I need to drain some of the fluid........ but I don’t know how, I never drained trans fluid before.

I was going to go somewhere, but my car wont even start!

When I put the key in and turned it, I though maybe it was the battery but that can't be because we just got a new one.

Any idea what to check for or how to fix it? Would the CV joints have anything to do with this? Thanks so much

The windsheild wash does not work on our car anymore, and I would like to try and fix it as a surprise for the car owner. I heard its hould only be easy to fix, but not sure how to go about it. I think it is just the tube to the washer "holder" that is broke, and maybe need a new pump I belive I was told. Any information on how to get started, and how to go about doing it, and where to find the items needed would be great. Thanks so much.

I have a 2000 Blazer and the front left tire is making a sound that sounds like my car is creaking. When it started it was just a little annoying sound but now it is getting louder. It happens most when I am turning left and when I go over bumps it sounds like my tire is going to come off. This is my first car, I'm only 16 and I have only had this thing for about 2 months and so many things have gone wrong with it. Please say it is something cheap because I have so little money right now and I can't pay a lot to fix it. I need this car to get to school every day and I'm afraid to drive it, can you at least tell me if it is safe to drive? Thanks.

Today after I was home from work I decided to take my 1983 Buick Riviera for a short ride. For some reason the brakes seemed to be stuck. After I finished my very short ride I noticed white smoke comming from my front right tire, and the tire was very very hot. What might the problem be?

Okay, I have a 95 Chevy Impala. Only one out of four power windows(passenger side) is currently working. No A/C... It's like in the Russian sauna while driving that thing especially it's a black color...

So, I found out that this plastic slides which are connected to the actuator are broken. I paid high dollar getting new slide pieces but I cannot put it in. This plastic slides are in between this guide(rail) thing and I have no way putting new slides back in. Or taking out the old broken slide pieces neither!

Both end of the guide are pinched end, means that I cannot slide the piece(slide) out other than bending it. Plus the punched pin at end is also not letting slides out farther end of the guide.

I have no idea how guys at shop can put this thing in... If anyone knows the trick, I will greatly appreciate!

This seem to be a common GM problem because I used to have a 91 Caprice, and it had the same problem. I didn't bother it because those were rear windows.

After putting my clothes to wash in the gentle cycle, I noticed when I when I went to get my clothes they were still dripping wet, the washer did not spin. I started over the wash and from the start it wanted to wash as if there was water in it. There is no water in it, if i let it run to the spin cycle it will make the sound as if its draining water, and will not spin, then you can see the timer move , then its off. I tried starting it over a few times and it keeps doing the same. Can you plz help me

i was driving my car and the coolant light comes on, so i stop the car and get out, oil and smoke everywhere, so i hurry home which is about a block away. i pop the hood and see oil all around the filter so i call goodyear, the people who changed my oil. they tell me to bring it in, i wait til the next morning to do so since the engine was hot. i was able to tighten the filter 1 1/2 times with my hand and i added 2qts of oil to take it in. i get there and the tech looks at it and said he was able to tighten the filter further. this was the source of the leak and he tells me to go home and just keep a close eye on it. on my way home it overheats no oil just hot. so i take it back for a better inspection. he finds oil in the coolant, calls the dealer, they say i need a new radiator. do you know if the oil problem would have caused the greater damage to my car?

I have an 1989 Chevy Beretta and I just got the engine replaced. The car was running good for about a month. I can drive the ar just fine for about 10 or 15 minutes. After that time goes by the car will shake alot and then when I come to a stop it just cuts off. It will start right back up but when I shift it to drive it immediately cuts rght back off. This will keep repeating unless I leave the car off for about 25 to 30 minutes. I've been told it was the fuel pump, crank scensor, or the transmission could be going. Can anyone please tell be what the problem could be?

Thanks alot, Johnnie

The hood release doesn't work in my car, but it doesn't exactly need to as of now becuase to open my hood all I have to do is open like I would after I pulled the hood release lever. This makes me a little nervous. Also when I'm on the highway or going very fast the hoob bobs up and down, but it doesn't come off. Is the hood release mechanism easy to fix myself, or should I take it somewhere and get it done? I'm about to be going to school in a town about 20 miles away each day, so that makes me nervous. How much would it cost to have this fixed by someone?
