I have a 2000 Blazer and the front left tire is making a sound that sounds like my car is creaking. When it started it was just a little annoying sound but now it is getting louder. It happens most when I am turning left and when I go over bumps it sounds like my tire is going to come off. This is my first car, I'm only 16 and I have only had this thing for about 2 months and so many things have gone wrong with it. Please say it is something cheap because I have so little money right now and I can't pay a lot to fix it. I need this car to get to school every day and I'm afraid to drive it, can you at least tell me if it is safe to drive? Thanks.

Is it a 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive model? If it's a 4 wheel drive, it could be that the c/v joint is going bad---would be a clicking sound-- which is expensive to fix and you should not drive too long with that condition. Or if 2wd or 4wd, it could be some suspension component squeaking....the stabilizer bar bushings were known to be noisy if not lubed with lithium grease properly and would tend to make noise more when going over bumps and in turns when there's a load on one side. I would say take it to an alignment shop and have them road test it with you in the car to make sure they hear the sound and see what they say. If it's the bushings making noise, you can have them lubed or replaced...not too expensive and won't hurt to drive like that..just noisy.
Good luck, Paul

Park it on level ground set park brake(if it works) and chalk (block) rear wheels, now safely jack the tire off the ground, now try to move the top of the tire in and out (but not so hard to push truck off jack) it shouldn't move, if it does wheel bearing is bad, not to expensive to fix, but unsafe to drive. Could also be that you've got a CV joint (constant velocity) going out (more expensive) and still unsafe to drive.

Only thing I could think of is if you have a big tear in the CV joint boot and the grease some how made it to the front of the tire. Probably something you drove through.

It could be one of several reasons its making a noise take it to your mechanic and get him to check it.
