I have bought my 1994 honda civic in 2005 from the dealership. I figured maybe before I bought it maybe they replaced all that stuff already. I have been driving all this time and I am kinda worried because I have to commute, a hour to school 3 days a week. I didn't want my car to just die becasue the timming belt snaps and me being stuck. I probably put about a little over 30,000 miles in to it already. When should I change the timming belt?

I have a 1994 GMC Sierra with a 5.7 L V8 350. Just today, it started making this odd clicking noise. It is a sharp clicking noise that starts when I turn the key to the accessories position, and then it will go away after running for about a minute. Anybody have any suggestions on where I should start with this problem? Thanks a lot.

I have a 2000 malibu, and have replaced the head gaskets, lower and upper intake manifolds, and thermostat. After running about an hour, the temperature goes all the way up. I also have no heat coming out of the heater, and the system seems to be overpressurizing. Does any one have any ideas what this can be? I have heard that it could be a faulty radiator cap. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

My sister just bought one of these cars. Its a V8 and it had only 77k miles on it. Someone said that it has the worst engine out there because its made of aluminum or something. Is this true? Also, the engine squeels when the AC is turned on. How do we fix that?

Suburban with 112,000 miles has developed a "roaring" noise which sounds similar to noise made by off-road tires. Noise will disappear when turning left. I purchased new tires and replaced front pads. Also had front end aligned. Nothing helped. While making any type of left turn the truck is perfectly quiet. Roaring noise is always present when going straight and a right turn does not cause the roar to disappear.

2003 chevy malibu, 40,000 miles. With a 3.1 V-6 Engine. The car cranks fine. When I try to start it everything sound like it normally does, No different sounds or anything like that, it just wont start! I bought the car with 5000 miles over 2 years ago and have not had a problem with it. I had my oil changed a month ago and they recomended a battery terminal service. I checked the terminals and they are as clean as can be. Sorry I didn`t give enough info before. Thanks for the answers before (except the chrysler one).

Well, to make a long story short, my timing belt for my mazda car slipped last spring. I had the timing belt and tensioner replaced at the dealership. Then the car started to make a noise after i drove it on small roads for 10 to 15 minutes. I took it back, they said it was the idler bearings. The car made noises again after driven for 10 to 15 minutes. Then winter came, the car no longer made any noises. Now spring time is here, and the weather is warm again, the car now makes noises again in the timing belt area after it is driven for 10 to 15 minutes on small roads. When the car is driven on freeways, it doesnt seem to make as much noise if not any, this usually only happens while it is driven on small roads, where there is stop and go and during warm seasons such as spring, summer, and fall, but not winter. Does anybody have the solution to this problem? My car is 2000 Mazda Protege Es with 1.8L engine and 4 cylinder. Can it possibly be the two cams or whatever you call it?

I have a 97 transport that takes Dexcool. Bought it from a private seller two hours from home. Put Peak antifreeze in it without realizing it needed Dexcool compatible anitfreeze. Drove for about 2 weeks and temperature guage went up and down and there was little to no heat but car still drove fine, engine never shut off and wasnt too hot. Had a friend drain ALL the antifreeze out of the radiator and the plastic tank. Didnt know they put straight anitfreeze in it without adding water. Drove about 1 mile and the low coolant light came on and engine overheated and van shut off. Took out some of the straight antifreeze and added water to the rest but its still overheating and theres not much heat. I dont think he added coolant to the radiator, just the plastic overflow tank. What should I do?

im not sure how i should go about this. once i have the connectors removed from the battery it self i want to soak them in baking soda and water to dissovle all the acid. then dry them off really good. but the thing is that they are held in place to the battery terminals by a threaded hex screw. im worried if i take a steel wrench to it to remove the screw i might get a shock could it kill me. how should i go about cleaning them do you think?

My mum`s car (a Mercedes C class, 11 years old, low mileage) has not been driven for over 6 months and has just been parked in the road. Needless to say that the engine cannot be started, so I need to jump start it. As the car has been out of action for such a long time, what should I be aware of when I am driving around to charge up the battery? Am I safe to drive the car?

HI i have a ford focus which has just had its lamber sensor replaced because it was misfiring etc but despite doing this the car still does it. This is after putting it on the diagnostics any ideas as to what may be causing this...could it be a faulty idle control valve as the car does rev up and takes time coming down...any ideas...???
