Well, I plan on taking my camaro to the drag strip when it's ready and was wondering how much HP I'd gain for each pound of weight I take out.

I have been driving automatic the whole time I've been driving until recently. My first straight is a camaro 6 speed. I can drive it just fine, but just haven't gotten to the point where I can take off faster. I usually just have to let the clutch out and the strength of the motor and clutch lets me take off slowly but I'm needing to know the technique so I can go to the drag stip after enough practice.

I replaced this battery maybe 2 yrs ago. Here's what I tried:

1. With car running, the voltage across the battery is 13.8. That seems fine I think. I measured voltage drop across the ground strap; the drop there is not excessive, perhaps 10 mV.

2. With car not running and no load, the battery voltage is 12.8. Turning the headlamps on drops the voltage to 11.8. I left the headlights on for about a minute, then off. Now the battery voltage is 12.25.

3. I disconnect the negative terminal and put the current meter across the terminal, and what happens completely baffles me. When I first touch the meter to the terminal, it shows just over 1 amp current; but when I hold the meter on the terminals, within 10 seconds the leakage current is down to 6 mA. I did it time and again and it did this consistently

Because of the voltage drop under load I'd guess the battery is bad; but that current thing baffles me. Any ideas?

My 2001 Dodge Caravan is leaking antifreeze. There is no obvious spot. The antifreeze is on the ground on the drivers side, right in the front. This makes me think it is coming from the radiator? The hoses all look good, nothing is wet except the ground....any ideas? And yes, I will take it in, but noone's open on the weekend. Thanks.

I have a 110cc ATV. It runs great until about a week ago. I was riding around and all of the sudden it stopped while I was driving and shut down and the exhust was spitting out some black smoke. Now when I try to start it the starter just keeps turning and the engine never starts. I thought it might have been the spark plug and that maybe it was not sparking the engine, but I tryed a new one and it didn't work. PLease help me

I washed it before, but it's left spots, and they distract me and reflect the sunlight a bit, making the windshield very dirty looking when hit with direct sunlight. It's a '96 Pontiac Grand Prix SE two-door by the way if that helps for whatever reason. Any answers are appreciated! Thanks!

1996 Chevy Monte Carlo, I recently had the water pump replaced.

Now if I turn the AC up, the temperature starts to spike higher than it ever has previously, but then gradually gets down to high-normal range as the cooling fans kick on.

When I popped the hood as it was overheating, I heard a hissing sound coming from the middle area of the engine around the water pump area, and also the main radiator hose was throbbing as if it were sucking air.

Should I get the hoses replaced, or could the connection to the new water pump just be loose?

Anyone have any clue it's not getting spark but it's fine all the way up to the coil pack's.. But would they both go out at the same time??

updated recap on the problem: when taking off under mod. to hvy power i get a sound from undernearth that sounds like something is stripping. i have described this as a clicking sound which is why i feel that many people have suggested that the uv joints could be bad. it is not a clicking as would be heard on cv axles in a ft wheel drive. think of maybe like a zip wire for wiring. what it sounds like if you pull it tight really fast. kinda like that but naturally a lot lounder. i can feel it sometimes from underneath my seat. and sometimes it seems as if it is coming from the front wheel. also while driving straight down the hwy. it does not make the strip or click sound but does make a knock or thump mostly between 30-45. i have checked the axles all ok. is there a way do diagnose the transfer case. can i unbolt the front shaft to test it in the drive way to see if it still makes the sound. can the chain be replaced with out complete removal of the transfer case. what are the steps

The past few days my 1999 Dodge Caravan's electric door locks have acted possessed. They've been locking and unlocking by themselves. For the short term I removed the fuse that controls the electric locks. Unfortunately my A/C now doesn't work, the blinkers don't work, and the ABS and Air Bag dummy lights are on. Where can I find information on how to get into the door panel and look for the wire that powers the actuators controlling the doors. (I'm assuming that disconnecting the wire in the driver's door will cut power to the other doors as well.) That way I can put the fuse back and get all my other car components working again. Thanks in advance for any advice.

i am oppening a garrage which shall remain nameless and would like to know how much people think a tyre repair should cost?
now bear in mind it does take a technician around 30mins to complete, plus there are materials to consider (not very expensive ones true but still a factor).

I have a 1996 honda accord v6. I pulled the code on the car and it said that the flow through my EGR valve is insufficient is it really that important to replace or have working. Do I need to replace the part or could it be something else (vacuum). I pulled the vacuum hose off but it had no vacuum. I figured this just might be due to the fact that the part doesn't use vacuum until it is hot or at higher RPM's or something.
