If a fuel pump is clogged with scale, you need to buy a new one and clean out the tank.
I never could understand how many people are dumb enough to believe that old "When you're low on gas you suck the crud off the bottom of the tank" story. Where do they think the pump sucks the gas from when the tank is full?

You can put some feul system cleaner in it which will help clean it but will not unclog it and costs around five dollars, or you can have a new one put in and it won't be clogged anymore.

if its for a car you need to buy a new one. sediment and rust build up in the bottom of your gas tank and when your running low the pump sucks all of that crap of the bottom an can get clogged, or burn up and fail. the normal procedure is to replace it. if you have an old model car its relatively cheap and easy. if you have a newer car the pump is inside the gas tank and can be pricey. My 95 dodge ram costed me 350 dollars to change it out. Ive heard from others that some are up to 600 dollars.

You can try and maybe it will help for a little while. But when you can afford it, change the fuel pump and filter. Hell we know money is tight, the economy is down!
