If I pull the stem out on my watch ,will it save my battery?

I have alot of watches, and when I'm not using one I pull them stem out so the battery doesn't get used. My husband says that doesn't matter....Who's right?

You're just disconnecting a gear, not shutting off the mechanism. The old man is right.

no the watch is simply on pause, the battery is still in use.
