My sister just bought one of these cars. Its a V8 and it had only 77k miles on it. Someone said that it has the worst engine out there because its made of aluminum or something. Is this true? Also, the engine squeels when the AC is turned on. How do we fix that?

This is her first car. Is there anything she needs to know about this model?

i own a repair shop and its not the best engine Cadillac ever made, but its not the worst one either, the sound your hearing is just a belt loose on it that's all, i know of a lot of those cars that are still going good with well over 200 thousand on them so like i said its not the worst engine Cadillac ever built, just don't get it hot, that will ruin it,those are god cars though, and that engine will hold up ,i service a lot of them and they usually do pretty good if you take care of them, just have the belts tightened up or replaced on it and that will stop the squealing on it,i think it will last you pretty good , i been at this for 36 years and i haven't seen too many of those engines actually fail,so like i said take care of it and you,ll be alright with it,good luck hope this helps.

if the engine is a 4.1 then yes its a loser - squeal sounds like the v-belt needs replaced or adjusted on the ac compressor.
