I have a 1994 GMC Sierra with a 5.7 L V8 350. Just today, it started making this odd clicking noise. It is a sharp clicking noise that starts when I turn the key to the accessories position, and then it will go away after running for about a minute. Anybody have any suggestions on where I should start with this problem? Thanks a lot.

i own a shop and it may just be a timer going bad on it they have a timer that operates certain things like the interior lights and things when they start to go bad they will make a noise, but its nothing to worry about,i have a 95 s-10 that does this and i know its the timer, and it doesn't do it all the time so i choose to leave it alone,it wont hurt anything, and its not the fuel pump on it either,it only works in the on position not the accy position,so i wouldn't worry about it ,its not going to hurt anything mine has did it for three years and hasn't went out yet, good luck with it hope this helps.

Could be the relay in back of the glove box.Take the glove box out and reach in and down to try to find it.I believe that is the one that goes to the blower.Pull fuses till the noise quits and then you will know what circuit it is on.

sounds like the fuel pump priming itself - is the noise in the area of the fuel tank

Get a new starter now. They're cheap
at Kragens and they'll even tell you how
to put it in--or any garage mechanic
knows how.

does the truck start? if not, the clicking is probably due to a weak or bad battery.

It sounds like your starter is going. If it is your starter, eventually it won't turn over at all.
