HI i have a ford focus which has just had its lamber sensor replaced because it was misfiring etc but despite doing this the car still does it. This is after putting it on the diagnostics any ideas as to what may be causing this...could it be a faulty idle control valve as the car does rev up and takes time coming down...any ideas...???

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me.

Look around the intake manifold for a small hose that may have become dislodged and is sucking air.

The IAC valve can cause the idle concern, but not likely to cause a misfire issue. Those engines had a problem with the variable cam timing gear getting sludged, and that would certainly cause both issues. The computer has no way to know if the cam timing actually changes, even though it sends a signal to the actuator.
lamber sensor?? never heard of it.....
