Have a 1993 Volvo 850 GLT with the front brake calipers sticking. At first we thought the calipers were bad but that was not the problem. We repalced them and the front brakes still stick. The hoses are warn but it does not apear to be the problem. Everytime you hit the brakes it takes a while for the front calipers to release the rotars. Any ideas???

I have spent 3 hrs trying to remove the CV half shaft on the passenger side. I have remove the spindle hub nut and spindle assembly and have the outter end out But there is a support bearing with 3 12MM bolts. I have those remove and the Half Shaft is stuck. What is the secret to removing this shaft. Midas told me to use an Air chisel on the support bearing to remove it. I have sprayed WD-40 on it too. I have done other Cv shafts before but this one is the pits.

Do I need to remove the central wheel bearing nut? How hard should i have to hit the rotor to unstick it? Could I break something if i hit it too hard?

Okay. My car's wheel bearing is going out. I jacked it up the wheel was moving in and out and when I drive I can hear the rotor rubbing against the brakes. My question is: How do I get to the bearings. I get the wheel off, the calipers, and the rotor off but then what do I do to get to the spindel?

I have a 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan with brake problems. I have recently installed new front rotors and pads as well as rear shoes and cylinders. My brakes still will not firm up. When I initially press on the brake pedal I get resistance but when I slightly lighten on the pressure on the pedal and push repeating the previous process the pedal goes clear to the floor with no brakes whatsoever. Can the ABS system cause this or is my Master Cylinder at fault?

I have a Toyota and a Lexus, both of which are at risk for some kind of oil sludge condition. They are pushing 90,000 miles. Before I put more maintenance money into them, like a new timing belt, where can I go to have the oil tested to see if the cars are at risk for this or other problems?

Automatic...4.3 L. It has electronic 4WD shifting, and the 'service 4WD' dash light comes on often, which disables the dash buttons(no lights on selector buttons). I have had it back to my mechanic, and they said there was a faulty sensor and replaced it, but it started to do it again a couple days later. I have also been told it could be the solenoid on the transfer case, or possibly the actual buttons themselves. I am taking it back on Monday, and would like to have a better idea of what I'm dealing with when I talk to the mechanic. Any thoughts...?
By the way, I have an aftermarket warranty....I just bought this truck.... so I don't care what it takes to get it fixed.

I own a 95' sedan with 165K miles. When first accelerating, my car often shakes and has very little power. It seems to happen more when I have been driving for a while and the engine is warm. Actually, I have a lot more power when driving with a cold engine. I don't smell anything, and my car works fine besides this problem. When it shakes, I just gently pump the accelerator until it "catches" itself and works normally. Any ideas what is causing this?
