Have a 1993 Volvo 850 GLT with the front brake calipers sticking. At first we thought the calipers were bad but that was not the problem. We repalced them and the front brakes still stick. The hoses are warn but it does not apear to be the problem. Everytime you hit the brakes it takes a while for the front calipers to release the rotars. Any ideas???

There's a valve in the master cylinder that lets the fluid back through so the calipers can release. It's bad or stuck, or the rod that the pedal pushes on isn't springing all the way back up.

according to my haynes manual: 1. master cylinder pistons not returning correctly. 2. restricted brake lines. 3. sticking caliper pistons. it looks like an easy fix would be to purge the brake fluid with new fluid and this might clear out any obstruction.
