I have spent 3 hrs trying to remove the CV half shaft on the passenger side. I have remove the spindle hub nut and spindle assembly and have the outter end out But there is a support bearing with 3 12MM bolts. I have those remove and the Half Shaft is stuck. What is the secret to removing this shaft. Midas told me to use an Air chisel on the support bearing to remove it. I have sprayed WD-40 on it too. I have done other Cv shafts before but this one is the pits.

Anyone else have any other idea's its the support bearing stuck.. I have all 3 bolts removed thats holding it in. im going to use a air chisel in tomarrow and probably destory the old axle in the process,

i am reading the haynes manual and it doesnt mention any tricks. i have scanned the page if you want it. here is what it says for passenger side:10. to remove the right side driveaxle mark the relationship betwen the axle bearing retainer and bracket and remove the front axle retainer bolts(that would be those three bolts ). 11. pull the strut assembly out away from the vehicle and separate the driveaxle stub shaft from the hub.
it says that left side has circlip on splined shaft but right side does not. good luck.

I'm not sure if this will apply to your situation but on a Honda there is one ball joint underneatth where the axle meets the rotor. For example; once the rotor is off it's shaped like a "D" with the flat side down. That joint has to be loosened up with a ball joint puller. Once that's done the whole axle should drop. You'll need a crowbar to remove the axle from the transmission. You know it's got that axle pin inside there. Once that's broke out it should just come out. Don't forget to get the pin out if it doesn't come out with the axle. Good luck. I hope this helps. I've changed some myself and it seems like each one has a trick to it.
