are they really a nitemare? and could any one tell me how to get a read out of the order they are supposed to go

I have a 96 vw golf and recently i have been having problems switching gears. example. I could be in 3rd gear and when i go to switch to 4th the stik comes out of 3rd but wont go to 4th. its kinda like im hitting a wall or something once i get out of 3rd. Any help is very appreciated to find out waht the problem is. Thank you.

I got the wrong oil filter size! I usually get the same #s because my car and my mom's car have the same oil filter #, but this time I bought a different brand of oil filter. The filter screws on perfectly, its just a little bigger than the original size. I made sure the seal was tight, so nothing would leak through.....and after i started the car for a few mins. No leaks. Any thoughts ? thanks!

About 2000 miles after an oil change my oil light on the dash will light up, usually intermitantly at first, like when I'm taking one of those long turns onto the highway. I check the dipstick and its bone dry. Shouldn't the oil light go on before that? I'm not leaking oil either- where's it going? What's the deal?

I have a 1995 Volvo 960. Two days ago a red "Brake" light on the dashboard turned on. After dropping it off at the gas station they said the brake fluid was empty. the brake fluid was checked along with other fluids about 3 weeks ago. What is the best and worst case reasons for why the light turned on and the lack of brake fluid?

i asked a question about the rear wiper on my 01 explorer that water wouldn't come out. People told me to check the water hose to see if its clogged or frozen...It is very cold here but it has never worked so im guessing its clogs or just not hooked up correctly. Where can i look for this, or check on it. If it runs from the back to the front then it must be pretty long..where is it located?

I’m in the process of replacing a bad oxygen sensor in my galant. I had some trouble removing the old one but finally got it out after letting the car warm up. Now I’m having trouble inserting the new one. For some reason I can’t get it to twist in. Am I supposed to let the car cool down?

Where do Fill it up at? The wiper was down for a little bit must have been a short in the wires..But its working again..when i push the button it sounds like it wants to shoot out fluid but it won't. Is it because its empty or is it connected to the front supply. If not where do fill it at? HELP! thanks.

I refuse to take it in. People here gouge you like crazy, and I've heard changing the flasher is one of the easiest things you can do. I've changed my own serpentine belt and I regularly change the oil in my car, I think I can handle this. I bought the part, now I just need to know where the stupid thing is located so I can replace it.

I have a Geo 92 and didn't pass the smog inspection. the guy said that it didn't pass because it was getting hot and the emmisions were to high--the radiator fan didn't work and caused the overheating. He also said that the CAT converter could be bad... which can also cause high emmisions ...is there a way to check if it works or not,, how can you tell...?

Does anyone have any opinions on the different brands of cruise control kits? I'll be putting cruise control on a 97 Ford Explorer Sport. My dad is helping (he has done it before several times) but he has mixed opinions on the brands he has used.

What types have you used? Do you recommend it? I need some reviews from people who have done it themselves (preferably on a Ford) and liked the end results.

Or if you know any sites with some user reviews on them it would be great.

It's a 1992 ford tempo and when you go over any bump or like a crack in the road, you get a baning sound from the right rear tire. Could that be the strut? or could it be a bearing or just a strut mount? The car doesn't bounce at all and rides ok.

Great! I was on my way home and side-swiped the passenger's side mirror on a stupid garbage can. Now it's hanging by the wires. Ford says they're $167 just for the part (excluding installation).
