Huh? I seriously doubt it. Which engine? 260, 350, 400 or 455? I think the 400 may have put out about 200 hp that year - pretty weak. You'd have to build any of those engines up to get real strip worthy horsepower and that would kill your mpg.

you would really have to build that engine to get any HP. out of it and to get good gas mileage to boot you would have to go with an overdrive transmission.
