Does anyone have any opinions on the different brands of cruise control kits? I'll be putting cruise control on a 97 Ford Explorer Sport. My dad is helping (he has done it before several times) but he has mixed opinions on the brands he has used.

What types have you used? Do you recommend it? I need some reviews from people who have done it themselves (preferably on a Ford) and liked the end results.

Or if you know any sites with some user reviews on them it would be great.

Hi there.

I install cruise controls for a living.

I have installed on ALL makes of vehicles and especially fords.

My opinion of Cruise Controls is to stay away from cheap cruise controls. These companies do not stay around long enough. So if you have a problem or warranty you may find the company is out of business.

I purchase my cruise control kits from one place only and that is United speedometer service in riverside California.

The kits they sell are made for each vehicle. All brackets are pre-bent and aligned for you. They have been around for 30 plus years and provide excellent service. The price is a little more expensive but well worth it.

Give them a call for even more information.1 800 877 4798

I hope this helps. Good Luck!

I put one on a 1960 Ford Sunliner that I restored, bought it at Sears, never had one minute of trouble with it
