Some times, when I turn the key, fuel pump starts and car runs for while and then stops. Afterwards, the fuel pump refuses to start. I have 1.5 Quarter of a Gas left in my tank. I plugged it in, and battery seems to be working fine, it seems that fuel pup just does not supply the gas to the engine when it is very cold. Now, I added gasline antifreeze and fuel ijector cleaners but still the fuel pump does not starts. One of my friend suggested me to change the fuel pump, but it runs well when temp is above -20 degree centigrade. So, I dont want to spend money on it. Is there is a way to start the fuel pump somehow?. I can easily recognise that I have a probelm with a fuel pump as when I turn on the engine key, I hear some noise indicating that fuel pump started, but when I dont hear that it means fuel pump did not start, and car would not start either. Soemtime, I hit the fuel pump with soemthing, an dthen it starts, but this time, it would not. Any suggestions ?

I have a 4 cylinder 1999 Acura Integra. I could have easily gone to Advance Auto Parts and done it myself for less than $20. How much is considered reasonable for a mechanic to do it?

At my last oil change I was told I had a small leak. I understand I need to de-grease before it can be found and fixed.

What are some ways a person can do to neglect there car so that it dies after a small amount of miles. Let say what would the owner have to do to make a toyota last only 100,000 miles? Normally with good care a toyota would last 300,000 miles, so what are some common toyota care neglection that people do and that i should look out for? Be very detailed.

I need a PCV Valve NOW and no matter where I go, they try to sell me the wrong part. The valve I need is a black plastic one that's threaded on the side that goes into the valve cover, yet a smaller, steel, unthreaded one is what seems to be popping up in the computer at all the parts stores. I'm at a loss.

I have a 2001 Subaru Legacy Sedan, 2.5 L engine, and we think the heater core is broken. At first it leaked anti-freeze right under the driver side front tire, but now my husband says that ONLY when the heater is turned on it leaks, and some foggy mist covers the windshield. We got an estimate for around $1000--is this average? Any suggestions for me please?

I brought my car into a chrysler dealership because it was not running and i had a coolant leak. They got my car running and told me it would be around $1700. I am not sure exactly what they did. They then looked at the coolant system and replace the water pump and thermostat and some other things. They where also going to replace my front brake pads and rotors. Bringing the bill to roughly around $4000. Once the coolant system was fixed they told me my car will not run above and idle. They suggested flushing the fuel system and i believe the transmission. Which was another $130 they said they gave me a break on that. But they said if that didn't fix the problem it might be the valve train i think. Anyway this seems quite a high price for doing engine work when i could have probable bought a rebuilt engine for the same price, My car has now been in the garage for about 2 weeks. Does anyone have any advice?

I need to get a car inspection soon and I'm fairly confident that this is an electrical issue and nothing real. I got into an accident several years ago and since then I've been having minor electrical issues (for instance, my sun roof occassionally gets stuck before shutting completely.) This light has come on a few times in the past and there was never anything wrong with the car, so I'm thinking that it's the same situation. I'd prefer not to bring the car to Nissan and give them the opportunity to make up something that's wrong with my car (besides for the electrical issues that they've never been able to fix.)

I have a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser. After driving, when I turn the car off, I hear a bubbling/bioling sound from under the hood. I have recently started hearing this when I'm stopped in traffic, not just when I turn the car off. What does this mean? Thanks!
