Hi
I'm about to do an oil change,, should I go for what it says on the owners manual? 5w-30? I heard that as the engine gets older you have to use a thicker oil..... the engine of this car is great, doesn't leak or anything like that. Also where I live (nj) it's pretty cold... I also heard that it's not good to use a thick oil in very cold areas.... Can you guys give me some recommendations on what should I use? thanks everybody.

okay so i just purchased cross drilled/slotted rotors for the front and rear along with brand new pads, some people are telling me i should have just gone with slotted rotors because x drilled rotors tend to crack and warp a lot, is this true?? would i really be better off just ordering slotted rotors? also about how much longer would these aftermarket rotors and pads last me compared to OEM ones?

I have a sliver Mercedes CLS 500 and it's paint has chipped on the engine cover and front bumper. I'm wondering is there anyways to prevent it from happening? Just a stupid question, or perhaps there's some sort of paint on the market that can prevent car paint chip...

I have a Honda Odyssey 2002. My car would not start so I called AAA. The guy came and said I needed a new battery. He put it a new one which cost me $115 (AAA Member Discounted Superior Quality Battery 24F36 with 36 months Free Replacement).
Now, I'm told a battery for my type of car costs $50 to $75. Did I make a good decision by accepting that offer?
Can $115 be considered a discounted exclusive AAA Member price?

I have a Mazda MX-3 GS V6...it has 4 disc brakes. I went to change my brakes and notice that I coudl not bleed the pass. rear caliper, but the other three bled normal... so I took off the calliper to see if it was seized, but it was movable, and I even changed the piston boot and rings...so I started chasing the line unhoooking and trying to bleed at ever connection and no fluid...I followed the pass rear brake line to the proportioning valve, and thats where I stopped...could anyone explain how a dual proportion valve coudl malfunction if that is the case?

2001 kia rio. 100k miles. Good condition except: when it is cold and i try to drive 55 before it completely warms up it starts losing power, check engine light comes on, code "ping sensor" and "misfire sensor". car will slow down to a stop regardless of how much gas i give it. If i turn off the motor and give it a few seconds and restart it runs great. This is inconvenient on a bridge on the interstate when everyone else is going 70mph. Been doing this for years. Tonight same thing, i failed to let it warm up and it did the same thing. only this time stopping and restarting it did not fix it. now it runs rough and when i switch over the heat it starts losing power, may be a coincidence. car will gain speed if i kinda tap on the gas pedal at intervals enough to keep me away from traffic. Ive had the fuel filter changed and a tune up and it did not fix it. does not really do this in hot summer months. What could be wrong?
