RE:
If you pay $115 for a car battery and you are told it is an exclusive AAA Member Discounted price.True or not?
I have a Honda Odyssey 2002. My car would not start so I called AAA. The guy came and said I needed a new battery. He put it a new one which cost me $115 (AAA Member Discounted Superior Quality Battery 24F36 with 36 months Free Replacement).
Now, I'm told a battery for my type of car costs...

It doesn't sound like a good deal to me even with a membership discounted. A regular good car battery should be around $50-$60.
The AAA guy probably charged you for his service.

$115 sounds pretty high for any battery unless its an Optima Battery (which is a brand)or a very large battery which doesnt sound like the case here. And yes an installation charge is a joke because you cant really consider battery installation labor. It only takes a minute.

Check the name on the battery. There are some that retail that high. If it is not one of the upscale batteries complain to AAA that you feel you were overcharged and maybe they can help you get a partial refund. If nothing more, they might threaten to drop the service guy who changed your battery.....

NO!!! that battery is a normal size that sells for :$50.00 the 24f is the size, and the 36 is the months the manufacturer warranties the battery for. If that is installed price, it is steep, but for sure not a discount. Sorry to break that to ya.

a $50-75 battery may not come installed or with a warranty for free replacement... if you pay for AAA... stick with it... I'm sure it will work out in the long run!

Considering that you got a top line battery, had it installed (usual charge $40-50/hour), and AAA took care of the disposal of the old one (which is hazardous waste and costs money to dispose), I'd say you got a deal.
