when it starts it turns off again. I try to start it again and it will not start for a few tries, then it will start again and when I accelerate it turns off. I keep my foot on the accelerator until the car engine warms, then if will stay on but it feels like it gonna turn off again. As I drive and stop at a light I fear it will stop again, but it stays on. Next it will be fine until I turn the engine off again and it's the same. The car is a 97 Saturn SL with 120,000 miles on it. It recently had a tune up with new spark plugs, oil change, tire rotations etc. Apparently the mechanic missed something, or the cold weather is taking its toll on the car. Any ideas what the problem could be???

my cupra r was damaged and I'm having hassle getting the money for the specific bumper 'cos it costs more than the standard. Court case next month so I want to show that it isn't just seats that have different prices for "same" item. Also can't find a part price-list on the interweb.

My car had a flooding problem and I left it alone for about a week. Then I un-flood the car and it started up fine. When I drive my car the car started to shake and It wouldnt let me go as fast. I had to change to 3nd gear around 10mph for the car to go any faster. When I turned off the car and opened up my hood white smokes came out. I left it alone until the smoke was gone and I started it up again. Again, the car/engine was shaking. So what could be the problem? Thank you in advance.

I (a woman) know really nothing about automotive machanics. My transmission on my 2000 dodge durango is gone and i need to either replace or repair it. I want to replace it. I know im looking to spend about $2,000 and i want to hold on to as much money as i can. Is it cheaper for me to find the park myself and then have someone put it in? Whats the cheapest way for me to do this?

When I was driving around 40mph, I hit something that looked like this

I am doing some research about rail rust on my car. I don't know if you will be able to help, but any information to me is useful. I purchased my car in May of 2006, in August of 2006, I noticed on the bumper which is plastic (or made of some kind plastic material, i'm guessing ) there was tiny rust spots. Also, rust was on parts of right side, the roof, and inside of the door. The first time I took it to them, one of the technicians did an acid wash and then scraped the rust spots off. The rust spots are back again. This time they want to repaint the bumper and right side of the vehicle. Do you think this will take of the problem or is the rust in the paint of the vehicle itself. I have also noticed that the paint chips easily of the vehicle. Most vehicles it takes time for paint chips to occur, that I know of... but this car, has paint chips on the front, the back the side. Please assist if you can. Thank you.

The truck will crank up as long as it is not cold but when it warms up it will not crank back up unless it cool down.

ok it got down to 5-10 degrees 2 days ago and i got in my car, it statred fine then i drove for about 5 miles and i noticed my tempertautre gauge was all the way on hot and my heater was blowing out cold air still, so i pulled over and shut it off. so i guess what i am asking is, is my egine frozen or maybe thermastat i have no idea??????? i had plenty of anafreeze in it. but when i checked my coolant i noticed my water in the overflow is not circulating.could that be it???????PLEASE HELP???

I really wish I didn't have to wait several minutes to start driving after starting up my car in the winter. I freeze my booty because I have to wait for the heat to work. Is it true that if you don't wait, your engine will mess up or something? I have a 1996 Mercury Cougar (I'm hoping to upgrade soon). Newer cars don't require this tedious waiting, right? Can stepping lightly on the gas while the car is parked help? Why should we do this?
