My van recently suddenly started to ilde rough and when I accelerate it kind of jerks and hesitates. Not knowing if it's plugs. fuel line or whatever, I took it to the shop to have it checked out. I got a call to come pick up the van, he said that they did some work but the van but it is still running the same (not good).
Here's what they did and the price they charged:

Labor- R&R Fuel Filter - $50.40
Labor- R&R Spark Plugs- $81.90

Parts and supplies:
Gasoline additive- $15.95
Fuel Filter- $ 53.24
6 Spark Plugs- $29.88 (4.98 each)

Enviromental and shop- $4.46
charges

State Tax $7.78

Total- $230.38

The man said to run the van until the fuel and additive in the tank are gone. If that doesn't work they'll change sp plg wires.

We are in an averge size town in the southwest (US).

I'm trying to find a place that sells second-hand Smart FourTwo (MCC) panels in the UK, preferably in Berkshire...but anywhere in the south would be good.

In particular I need a "Phat Red" front panel for a 2001 model.

If I can't find second-hand I'll have to buy new, but they're pretty expensive. I've tried eBay and the UK Smart Car owners club forum, and various scrappy (salvage yard) websites, all without luck :o(

Prior to battery change, the car had to be boosted for it to start but otherwise started no problem. Took out old battery which was top mount. Replaced with new battery which is side mount but bought those adapters. Now there is power in that the lights and radio come on but the car won't start. Tried boosting it but still nothing. It doesn't even try to turn over. It is a 1998 Plymouth Neon. Does anyone have any idea what is wrong? Thanks - could use any suggestions.

My Mazda MX-6 with over 200K miles is experiencing one tiny problem. The plug for cylinder 1 keeps getting loose after a few days of installing or tightening. I usually have to tighten that one particular plug every weekend after which the car runs fine for a few days before a slight miss, something like a hiccup, comes back to haunt me. When the car is started up and the hood is open, whiffs of smoke can be seen escaping the area around the plug. Any solutions to rid this problem once and for all without affecting its actual performance or causing issues when its time to change the plugs at a later date? Please advise. Thanks.

My mom has a 97 Cad Deville Northstar with 113K miles. Its not in the greatest physical shape, leather had damage and the body has chips and sctatches. Normally I assume a car that old with thatmany miles is not worth repairing anymore and should be sold and a new one bought. However, Im trying to avoid the expense of buying another one when this one can suffice for a while. This one needs an AC compressor which should be an expensive repair. Dealer said, FIX IT, the Northstar engines are designed to last to 200K and are worth fixing even at 113K. My gut says any car over 100K is about to become a money pit and its not worth it? Anybody know if this car really has a good enough reputation to sink more money into it? FYI, it has been reliable so far up to now so thats why the mixed emotions. THX...

A family member of mine just got a 1995 chrystler LRS from an in law..The car has sat since spring of 2005... Well the in law told him that the only thing that needed to be changed was the belt.. So he changed the belt and the car does run good for the few mins that they had it running but now theres no air coming out to heat the inside of the car... He thinks it could be a fuse that needs to be changed or it could be the fan to the heater.. My question is, could it be the fuse or the fan for the heat to not be working?? or could it just take time to work since it sat for so long?? Any advice would be so appericated....

4 mo. ago my cousin placed a vehicle in a transmission shop to have the torque converter replaced. He got the car back and it drove for one day and then broke down again. He had them tow it back to the shop then they said it would be an additional $1200 to completely rebuild the transmission and he would need half of it up front. He paid it and then the shop has taken like 3 mo. to fix and they kept saying "we will have it done in a couple of days". Well now the shop has closed down and they still have the car and he cannot get ahold of anybody and he has no Idea how to get the car back. Does anybody know what he should do to get it back?

I want to keep the original factory look. That means I don't want to make it shine or be glossy - just want it clean. A great plus would be to have some kind of uv protectant on it - still without the shine.

I just got a new clutch in May, and recently lost pressure in my clutch pedal. Both Slave and Master cyclinders where replaced and the system was bleed several times. I don't think the mechanics did it correctly the first time since the pedal would lose resistance overnight. Now the pedal has resistance, but I'm still having trouble getting the car in gear and it seems to inch forward even with the pedal fully depressed. It seems to temporarily help if i pump the clutch a few times. Does anyone know what this could be?

We have a 2000 Subaru Forester and can't find a leak, the gauge doesn't read hot, and we don't smell the antifreeze through the vents or in the car itself. The smell is strong and present when we come to a stop or when we turn off the car, and the smell is coming through a window or open door.

Sometimes when I turned on the ignition of my Lexus RX300, the engine won't crank. I need to crank it up to 7 times to start it. When I turned on the ignitiaion and it did not crank, those engine lights does turn on and I heard "ka". I don't think it is the battery as I just replaced with a new one because I thought that is the problem. Any idea on what is wrong? Should I take my car into dealer for service?
