4 mo. ago my cousin placed a vehicle in a transmission shop to have the torque converter replaced. He got the car back and it drove for one day and then broke down again. He had them tow it back to the shop then they said it would be an additional $1200 to completely rebuild the transmission and he would need half of it up front. He paid it and then the shop has taken like 3 mo. to fix and they kept saying "we will have it done in a couple of days". Well now the shop has closed down and they still have the car and he cannot get ahold of anybody and he has no Idea how to get the car back. Does anybody know what he should do to get it back?

The shop has closed as in gone out of business?

He should probably call a lawyer. It might take just a letter from a lawyer and they'll get it back to him, but he may have to press charges.
