First off, I'd take your car to another place without telling them what the other shop did. Tell this new shop to take heed to all new parts and advise you of what they found. Then, ask them if those filters, parts etc were needed and get their opinion on what's wrong and what parts. Steering problems can only be a very few things so that's good news however, Your Taurus, my friends and my old 96 Taurus is notorious for loosing it's motor mounts for no reason and multiple times (same car) just like the Honda accord has a CV Boot problem that never quites I put 12 Boots in my 1990 and bought it brand new off the show room floor. Still have it and it runs like a strapped asss ape but the boots are a problem and out again. Keep an eye on your Taurus's motor mounts. Good luck to you.
