Sometimes when I turned on the ignition of my Lexus RX300, the engine won't crank. I need to crank it up to 7 times to start it. When I turned on the ignitiaion and it did not crank, those engine lights does turn on and I heard "ka". I don't think it is the battery as I just replaced with a new one because I thought that is the problem. Any idea on what is wrong? Should I take my car into dealer for service?

could be 1 of many things..
lets start with the cheapest.

fuel filter
sometime when these get dirty it takes a few cranks to get the needed fuel to the right area's these should be changed often... your local auto shop should be able to tell you how often.. meineke / midas does those things
or
battery -- when a batter is a few years old it gets weak.. can still show a full charge.. but it is a weak one try a new battery making sure you have the right one for your car

solenoid --- at times these things will just die and cause all kinds of problems

after that I would have flush done ,,remember your car is like the human body and it requires tune ups.. after about 30k miles the car needs to be taken in and have all the flushes done. some of the flushes have / should be done 2 times a year like the radiatior . this flush should be done in the spring and in the fall,..or at least 1 time a year..

if it has been over 30k miles since you had these done it could mean your cars injectors are very dirty which would give you poor gas milages..

I would bet it is the battery or fuel filter or solenoid try those first...
also remember the dealership doesnt have to do this work.. they generally will charge the heck out of you for no reason.. check your owner manual generally it says as long as you can prove you have your car taken care of ...

You are saying: that when you turn the key to start, sometimes the starter motor does not make a turning sound, but you hear a click noise?

In order of probability, it is: Bad connection from battery to starter motor, bad starter, and then a bad ignition/key switch.

Almost any decent shop can trouble shoot this.

If not the battery check two things...the alternator and the fuel pump. One of two things causes cranking problems...no juice or no fuel. Good luck.
