When my car gets to the half way mark on the petrol counter it starts to lose power. If I put the foot down then it stops. It only ever happens at the half way petrol mark. It has has a fuel treatment (or so said the garage) but that has not helped!!!

I would never run from the police or anything but I was just thinking I wonder how fast of a car you would have to have to be able to just floor it and leave a police car with no chance to keep up. Like what kind of engine do most police cars have and how much hp/tq?

My car is in pretty good shape and hasn't done it before but today after starting up in the cold and driving a little ways down the road the engine was making a loud knocking sound. After driving a little longer it went away and I havn't heard it since. just wondering what could be the cause and if it's a sign that somthing may need attention.

I have a 1988 Dodge Dynasty 3.0L V6 that I have replaced every piece of the brake system on and yet it won't bleed correctly, and we can't find a leak. In December 2005, I was driving it and the pedel started to get mushier and mushier the cloder I got to home and by the time I got home, I almost wasn't able to stop when pulling into my parking stall. My husband, who is a mechanic, seen that the master cylinder was leaking and replaced it, then bench bled it, my brake pads and shoes also needed replacement, so we figured while it was parked to do that as well. Then after replacing the pads and shoes, we couldn't get it to bleed at the wheel, and I had a bleeder valve that was shot so we replaced that, then it was like dominoes, everything we replaced, we thought would be the last thing and then my car would work. So, altogether we replaced these things:
Master Cylinder
Brake Pads
Brake Shoes
Front Bleeder Valves
Front Calipers
Rear Wheel Cylinders
Brake Booster
ALL the lines

I'm not sure if the extra width would cause any clearance issues. This will be in my 1995 Jeep Cherokee.

Hey Guys,
I have a Ford Focus ZX3 and I am wondering if you could tell me if I have too much oil in my car. Last Saturday I decided that I am going to change my oil myself and put Mobile 1 premium synthetic oil. I did manage to change it and at the end I filled it up with about 4.7 quarts of oil and some other additive(to clean the engine) that made it total of about 5.1 quarts. Although my car requires only 4.5 quarts I have it more than that. The oil is so clean that it is impossible to see where is the oil level. But I think that I am about an 3/4 an inch over the Full...
So should I drain the excess or just let it circulate in the engine until the next oil change?
I don't know if it could cause any damage to the car, but I haven't been seeing any smoke from the muffler.
Thanks guys,

I am purchasing a car that is a mazda mx-6 1997 with 73000 miles on it. The guy I am buying it from says there isnt a heating core which isnt really a big deal. He says there is a small problem with the transmission. The car wont go into reverse but will drive forward absolutley fine. He says its only about a 200 dollar fix. He says it needs a transmission replacement kit. Is that what it would really need or is he lieing and if so, is that all it really costs to fix it?

This only happened just recently, on mornings of -12 below zero or so. It does not come on when the car is warm, and it is on when I start it but goes off (and stays off) after the car warms up a few minutes. I see no signs of a leak, and the coolant was changed at the local Midas in December. Any ideas?

I have a 2003 dodge dakota V6 with the 7 /year 70,000 mile warranty with the check engine light on. I took it to advanced and had a diagnostic check ran, the computer said it was the oxygen sensor. Would this be covered under my warranty? and if not how much would it cost to get this fixed? & I know, I should not have bought dodge...also by driving a couple of days with this wrong, will it really hurt my engine??

I'm looking to buy a used Ford F150 with an automatic V8 engine. Ther seems to be a slight leak and after looking under the engine it appears to be between where the trans and engine join together? Is this an expensive seal to repair? What is this type of leak called? I'm pretty sure it's oil not ATF. Thanks for your input!

Well, i do have them hooked up but i want to know if im right. Im currently using them for floor LED lights because its too cold for outside the car. I wired them them directly to the battery on the positive and negatives. I know there is a different way to hook them up instead of having wire come directly from the battery to inside the car. somebody please help me out. Also, for the time being, is it bad for the car if i leave them hooked up straight to the battery??

Thanks

After warms up when pushing the accelerator the engine rpm oscillate and there is not power. Also, when applying a lot of power from a stop the engine jerks. It has a 3800 engine.
