I am looking for a way to fix a small hole and a crack on a carbon fiber hood. If I can't fix it totally, could I do something like just to cover it up? Maybe just a little spot where the hole was make it black?

I have a 95 Chevrolet 4x4 with a 305 it has throttle body fuel injection. The idle lopes after it is under load and you disengage the clutch(it is a manuel) it revs up by itself, I have checked for vacuum leaks, put new spark plugs in. I wonder if it might be an egr or pcv valve any ideas??

for a little while now 1 out of 5 times i start my car, the idle will go up then drop and the car will shut off. when i give it gas it catches and idles normally, but i dont want this problem to persist. i read on some forums that it is the idle air control valve. is this the problem? if so how do i clean it? if you are okay with it, leave an email so i can email you directly with any more questions. thanks

The truck has what appears to be a brand new fuel filter. It has a brand new distributor cap and rotor, and the plugs and wires are less than 8k miles new (though i have never checked the gaps).
The valves need adjustment, but that isn't one of my options immediately - too time consuming and/or expensive, depending on how i choose to do it. (do you think the valve clearance could be the reason it is pinging?)
Right now it pings on anything under 91 octane. i have been filling it up with chevron, shell, and 76 premium for the past 2 months. I have tried many fuel additives, including all sorts of octane boosters , and injector cleaners. Right now i'm running a tank of regular 87, to see if the pinging has stopped, but it has not. So i put a bottle of techron in, the first time i have used that treatment. Have also used lucas upper cylinder lubricant. Only thing i have not tried, is a throddle body cleaner that is fed through a vacuum line, such as chemtool's kit or seafoam. What next?

I noticed the indicator to check the coolant on the dashboard of my Pontiac (Grand Am SE 1998) was on so I filled up on coolant. I know I filled up the correct coolant and a little past the fill line. However, it still comes on. Although not always. Is it indicating a different problem?

I went to the mechanic because the engine check light went on and he said it turn on for two things the spark plug wasn't working properly and second because my oxygen sensor is not working ..he told me all sort of problems that my car can have if I don't fix that ..Now My car was driving well my only problem was that sometimes when I hit a red light or I have to stop my engine will turn off which suck! but I was driving the car for months and never had a major problem anyway teh mechanic gave me a bill of $700 for fixing those 2 things .. since I couln't afford to pay the whole bill I asked him just to fix the plugs ..but he wouldn't stop talking on how dangeraus it will be not to get that Oxygen plug fix..$300 later after fixing the plugs he gave me the car saying that I shouldn't drive long or my car was going die ..
I felt like I was getting ripped off ... I know only the basic about cars
if you know more than me can you tell me what's going on with my car???

I work for DOT and frequently assist stranded motorists in my off time. I would like to build my own LED flashing amber/white lighting to improve my vehicle's visibility on the side of the roadway. Where can I get the components I need to do this? I'd like really bright LED and IC's that will regulate flashing. Where can I get these?

I have a 1994 Eagle Vision ESI with a little over 146,000 miles on it. During the summer/early fall of 2006 I had new brakes (rotors) put on and everything went well. My bf did the job and noticed a bolt had worked loose but was unable to redo this because the threads in the cast iron had been stripped. He rigged it and it worked all that time, until now. Suddenly the new front brakes started locking up and the car wouldn't shift. Once the car shifted it seemed the brakes gave in finally and released. But stopping and going would cause them to start to squeeze up again. He attributed this to the bolt being worked loose again, and fixed it with a heilacoil kit from Advance Auto. While he had the tire off he also noticed the tie rod was bouncing around and replaced that as well. The car ran ok for a couple days, but now the brakes are locking up again, it is struggling to shift, and there is noticeable noise and severe vibration in the front end going down the highway. Any ideas?

I got in a wreck today and was wondering if anyone knew how much it would cost to paint a primed bumper. I found on the internet where I could have a new one shipped to me for about $150.00. I'm just wondering how much it would cost to get it painted. I got a guy who can put it on for me. Oh, and my car is a 2003 Olds Alero. Thanks in advance.

If it is a vacuum leak can it lead to other problems? I need to go out of town in a week and it will be an 8 hour drive. I don't have time to get this fixed before I leave. Will this cause any major damage to my engine or will it be safe to go? I need to go on this trip but I don't want to break down on the way.
