Not too difficult to do but not enough room here to detail how to do it!

If you don't get a good answer here - email me later - and when I get home I'll tell you how to do it!

Well first I would use some Meguiars Mirror Glaze 2 Fine cut cleaner and buff out with an orbital buffer !

If you polish it and see there is no paint in the center of the scratch go to get some factor touch up paint and use some 600 wet and dry sand paper to rough up surface and sand flat I would then touch it up the best you can then use the 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper with a little soap and water on a wet sanding block sand until smooth be careful not to sand through any coats of the original paint . then you the Meguires again to buff it to a shine you may see a slight color change where you touched it up , If you really want to match it wait a week and use colored wax over top of it ! It all depends on color what you will see and what you wont !

I personally normally just spray and blend the section that was scratched but if you are not a painter it would just make worse

The best way with out painting.
Get some wet & dry sand paper and lightly rub down the area with water aswell, then use a electric buffer with some regular buffing compound this should get rid of the sanding swirls and the scratch, then follow up with some polish a colour magic the same colour would be good if there is any scratch still visible.

I don't know but I scratched my car myself (by accident so no help needed from any nob jockeys!) and would like to know the answer.

The best way is to take it to a ICAR or Gold certified body shop, if you have comprehensive insurance coverage it would be covered less deductible.

Cheap way would be to polish it out with a buffer using a fine compound, then wax it.

Try buffing it out with polish before paying someone to fix it for you.

If it's not a deep scratch then maybe T cut will work on it.

If the paint is down through the color. Call Dent Wizzard.
