My car runs just fine....except when im stuck in traffic and the car is idle too long, like stop-and-go traffic. as soon as i speed up, the temp gauge returns to normal. What's the problem and how can i fix it?! my friend suggested a coolant flush. What is that and will that help?

I have an old model VW Beetle that over-heats most of the time. I wonder what could be wrong with it. I took it to a mechanic but he changed the coils and said it would be better. So far no significan improvement. What could be the problem and how do I fix it? What other problems do I anticipate in this sweet model of a car?

Hi there. theres a saying that "the HEART of the car is the engine" true that is. So WHAT is "the HEART of an engine". I've been in the mechanics industry for 20years and figured it out 10 years ago. and I've never meet anybody to this day that cannot answer that question correctly. SO I'm calling out to test the minds of you mechanics out there to see if there's anybody in the world that can answer it correctly. Remember to think about this before you answer it! Ask all your family and friends what they think to see if they might agree with you or what they might think. I will reveal my answer with your answers at the close of 8days from now. you can also submit more answers than one, Good luck for the 10 points.LOL... Regards, 2Tuf4U.

I was wondering aprox. how much a regular oil change (with no other extras) would cost at jiffy lube for a 1998 Honda Accord. Also, I am new to being a car owner, so how exactly does it work? Do you have to make an appointment ahead of time, or can you just show up?

my husbands family is all passed on and the only thing he has left is this car that was his father's . Was garaged for years and it was (cherry) - low milage too. The high end of the motor needs work- it's not driveable. So the car has been sitting for almost a year now out in the elements and the body is starting to rot on the lower panels. It's a shame - but we can't afford to fix it as we have had several problems with our other 2 vehicles which are not very new- 89 & 92 - so they are constantly needing something. I would love to get this car fixed for him- he's been so depressed since he has had no family for almost two years now! His father to cancer. His mother to a stroke and then heart attack. His brother became alcoholic almost died several times from alcohol poisoning- but finally had heart attack . We live in tolland county- take care of my 85 year old mother who lives an hour away- so I'm not working - so things are tight. anyone has any answers - appreciate it.

How can I tell FOR SURE that this one cannot be fixed? Any prob with this car costs mega $ and I dont want to pour a whole lot more than I have into it. ANY help would be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!

I changed all my spark plugs and wires, and my car starts sometimes, but sometimes it doesn't, and it is very random about when it does and doesn't. I am very confused and I don't trust that it is going to start the next time I depend on it.

I have a 1990 buick lesabre it wont start! I have replaced the cam interputer, cam sensor, crank sensor, ecm, ignition switch(not the key but the real switch that turns over the car), and coils. I got the ignition module checked out and it works. All fuses are fine even the ones behind the glove box. I get fule presure but i get no spark at all. It doesn't spark at the new spark pluges or with a screw driver 2 a grounded point i even put a volt meter 2 the coils while cranking the motor and i get nothing. The motor cranks but wont start up! I even went 2 the great length and checked for voltage form motor wiring harness seperatly (remover from the car) and everthing get voltage. I have 150 compression in each camber. It use 2 shut off after running 4 a while but would start back up in a few minues. The last time i drove it it i started it and drove it 100 feet and it just randomly shut off.

I can use any feedback. Thanks!!

WTF, I've never seen/heard of this. Is it common? It seems to be just water. It's dripping out and freezing. I just put my car on ramps, so it's possible this water has accumulated over a long time.

My headlights don't come on all the time. I have to play with the switch every morning. I checked the switcha and it is good. The fuses are good and it is both headlights so I bellieve that MAYBE it could be the relay. I have went through the wiring with a test light and cannot find where the problem is.

Is there a way that I can check the relay before buying another one?

The car is from 1994 if that makes a difference since the car might be exempt from mileage on the title.
