ok hear what happened . yesterday i felt when i started driving that the car didn't changed from the first gear and i got panicked so i stopped it turned it off and then turn it on again and i everything came back to normal with the gear. today while i was driving and there was some traffic the car heat went up over 80 and it usually do that but today it was like on line or more over 80 it was like 95 or 100 it didn't reach the red zone though. now usually and its freezing these days when i start the car in the morning i just wait for one minute and then drive it and i could feel that it still cold. do mercedes engine need to be on for a while before driving till the heat meter start moving before driving the car or you can just turn the ignition and hit the road? and what is wrong with my car engine's heat? some body knows?

I have an '89 Honda Accord, manual transmission. Today I could not get it to turn over. It would chug, but not actually kick over. The radio was on, and I tried to pump the gas, also tried it on more level ground (have had to do that before in the past) I got it to turn over once for about half a second, but then it died again. About 8 hours later I tried again and it started right up! Any suggestions on what the problem could be?

In my car the radiator hose that runs from the engine to the radiator(upper), is very hot and flows with coolant. The hose that runs from the radiator to the engine (lower) is actually cold to the touch. I can feel coolant flowing through the upper one, that is when the engine is hot, but not through the lower one. However, when the engine is off and I squeeze on either hose the other one inflates , so I can assume the passage is clear.

My car runs fine, the temperature gauge reads in the middle after warming up, and stays there. I was just wondering because the other day my engine felt HOT, temperature read the same, but it was just plain hot to the touch, like even the oil cap was too hot for me to touch. I was running it for several hours before that, however.

I have an '89 Olds Cierra as a winter beater. It needs new front struts.Monroe has a "Quick Strut" assembly that costs $400 for the pair.I could do this swap myself and yes,I have the tools. What I don't have is the tools/knowledge to replace just the strut itsself. My question is would it be less expensive to take it in and have the stuts replaced, with struts being like $50/ a piece plus labor,or by the assembly and do it myself? The car has 150K on it,so I'm thinking the coils are worn out as well.

Okay so Christmas Eve I tried to unlock my car doors with the little remote thing right, and it wouldn't unlock. So I thought it was the battery in the the remote. But when I went to start car absolutely nothing happened. So the day after Christmas I went to get a new battery and everything was better until now.. My car is DEAD once again. What's the deal?

I parked several inches away from fence, chain link, on about a 15 to 20 degree hill, little icy, anyway, today the suburban was right up to the steel inforced fence post. I can't move it up or down without damaging the side of the truck. My idea is to put the hydrolic floor jack under one end and pivot it away from the post. Problem is: where on the frame do I place the jack so I don't do any damage to the under carriage? Being on a hill , I assume I will have to jack up the front so the brake will still hold it from rolling down. Is this possable? All my local help seems to have abandoned me, I'm a widow and husband isn't sending any clues... (I think I hear him laughing )? Any ideas out there? Oh, I'm also losing the day light and it is colder than @#$!@#. Please hurry! THANKS!!!!

So I pulled the crank out of an engine I bought, and I haven't the slightest clue if its a 350 or 400 crank. There is a few markings on it, but nothing that has drawn any conclusions. The number on it is 932442 and it also says gm12 on it. Thats about all I can find. Where should I be looking for this number? Anybody have any idea what this thing is?
