I have heard that a simple machine can be made by taking common salt in a non metalic container and by passing a electric current it will fnction as a welding machine . If any body knows the details pl reply.

There is no way that you would ever get that to work, its ridiculous. For a 1/8" E7018 Rod you will need about 120 amps and 30 or so volts to burn that rod. These currents and voltages are very sensitive as you need a particular VA Curve in the power charteristics.

I know something that will work great though, see how many of those rods you can bend behind your neck, I bet you can't get 10.

There is no simple way to make a welding electrode weld without a welding machine of some type. You need around 70 volts and approx. 50 amps on the low end and 200 plus amps on the high end.. There are ac and dc machines.

From what I can make of your question, what you are referring to is called electrolysis. It uses electricity to combine, coat or fuse two metals by passing an electrical current through a metal in a salt solution to another metal. This process also splits water into hydrogen and oxygen. It is also referred to as electroplating.

It looks like Voltage AC. Most transformer welders are AC. You didn't say what sort of welder you got. They use DC for aluminium MIG or TIG welding, AC for steel or stainless steel.
