The point is to create a UPS with a very long run time when the main power goes out.

Can you hook the charger to the car battery terminals and then attach an inverter to the same terminals (in parallel they call it?). You then plug your computer or whatever to the inverter.

The whole setup would have to automatic. For instance, the charger can sense when the battery is fully charged and turn itself off automatically. With the setup, you shouldn't have to plug or unplug things manually based on what you're doing. It should be automatic, transparent, and operate in the background like any UPS.

Is this at all possible, or is it much more complex to get something like this working? Is this a fire or electrocution hazard? Will the equipment burn out the moment you hook everything together?

Some people say that synthetic oils don't need to be changed as often as regular motor oil, which was between 3500-5000 miles. My C-5 Corvette uses Mobile 1 synthetic oil. Some people say I should change it every 15,000 miles, others say when the onboard computer says you have 40-50% "oil life" remaining. Is there a correct answer ? Obviously I want to change the oil beofre it could be damaging to my engine but on the other hand, at the price of an oil change of synthetic oil ( around $70 ), I don't want to waste money changing it too often. PLEASE...I don't want just opinions, just facts :). THANKS

This is a 2000 Grand Prix with a 3800 engine.I got the "Service Engine Soon Light" and getting code P0300. This means engine random cylinder misfires. Now the light is flashes for a while and then stops flashing. Also the engine is rough and power is low when I try to accelerate.

The fuel pressure oscillate between 65 and 70 PSI is higher than the book said even after replacing the pressure regulator. While replacing the fuel regulator I found a lot of sediment in the regulator and the housing.

Now this happen before a month a ago without the engine blinking and an almost empty fuel tank. But after filling a the tank the engine run very good and it ran great for a while.

I have a problem with my 93 mx-3. When I turn on my headlights or car stereo, it causes the engine to make loud rattling noises. When I pressed the brakes the rattling becomes louder. What could be the problem?

My bf works overnight at K mart and he came out to go home and found his tires slashed. We filed a police report and they are currently investigating now. Can anyone tell me what the punishment can be if they are caught? Also, does anyone know if a person paid off the person to slash the tires, could they face any punishment too? What would that called so, I can look it up on the internet? Thanks!

I have an R reg escort which is a bit of a dog! When Idling the engine seems to miss every now and again (well alot) that sends a bit of a shockwave to the whole car...also, when I am driving it, the whole thing seems non responsive when I put my foot down until the turbo kicks in, and when it does, the car veers to the right and when I ease off, the car veers back to the right! Has anyone got any ideas on the above two problems. Oh, and it seems to smoke quite alot too!

The dash (electronic) gauge on this truck goes nuts when the truck is started and just begins to get warm. Like, from stone-cold to about 3 minutes of idling. The gauge will peg-out immediately. I know the sender is probably bad, but here's my dilemma...there is a sensor in the coolant stream next to the thermostat. Disconnecting this sensor does not affect the dash gauge, but does make the engine run crappy. There is another sensor between the sparkplugs on the passenger side of the truck that seems to be the sender for the dash gauge, that is, disconnecting it will cause the guage to fall to 0...but that spot is where you would usually find a knock sensor. Any GMC pros out there that can tell me for sure this is the sensor for the dash guage? I'm not a car mech but not stupid either...we are in a budget crunch and I'm trying to save a buck or two.Thanks.

I have a 1996 Oldsmobile Ciera SL sedan series II. The problem is that intermittently, and only in cold weather the car wont start. I have replaced so far: Fuel pressure regulator Oct 2004, Spark plugs, Ignition Control Module and Spark gplug wire set Nov 2004, PCM Nov 2004, Ignition switch March 2005, Camshaft sensor Nov 2005.
This week it has started acting up again.
Its always the same problem, it will crank, but not turn over.
Should I keep trying to fix this car?

This makes take up on the clutch difficult. When driving along it is much smoother and hardly noticeable. I have had the injectors checked and they are fine. Nothing has been changed or adjusted, the problem started gradually and got progressively worse. I have checked the two bottom engine mountings and they appear OK.

I have read the owner's manual and it says to "lift the clips." Where are the clips? I've taken off the protective plastic piece to keep idiots out of the engine but can't figure out how to remove the headlight assembly. The pictue in the manual doesn't look like the inside of my car... Help?
