this probably has an electronic sensor rather than a speedometer cable...so either a loose/bad connection somewhere or you have a bad sensor or cable. i think it may be called a wheel sensor, but im not sure..ive never owned a new enough car. :P

It's most likely that you have a wire that has either come loose or been severed. Nearly half the time a small rodent has chewed the wire. It's a pretty cheap fix.

I can't imagine it is more than a loose wire, take it to mechanic and see.

eather the sender from the trans is bad, or its a computer glitch.
