Had the car 5 years. Been fine till problem started in Sept, gradually getting worse. No difference if cold or warm. I do two 47 mile journeys each day. Timing belt replaced two years ago, by a garage.

It's a deisel and they cold weather makes the deisel fuel go thick and gloopy, maybe the vibration is while the car is warming up and the fuel loses viscocity as it gets warmer. Have you tried putting a product such as Redex for deisel cars through in when you fill up, give the system a good clean through.

it will be your fuel filter if you have changed it or had it changed it is always a good idea to also change the jubilee clips that connect the hoses to the filter as they may appear tight but i have known them to still allow air into fuel system which will cause the car to run in the manner you have described

How long have you had the car?

I would expect a little rougher driving, in the colder weather. Does the problem get better as the car heats up?

Does your car use a timing belt or chain? And have you ever had it replaced?

3. bad poor fuel
4. timming belts have streched and need replacing
5. pump worn
6. bad injecters i know you have had these checked but it pays to double check?
replace fuel filter and air some times helps!

sounds like a damaged valve or compression is low on 1 cylinder hence rings
