I just purchased and had a new battery installed a week ago. After driving for a while today and then parking the car to shop, I tried to start the car, but it would not start. I got a jump and I was able to drive home. I turned it off and tried to start it up again, but no such luck. Is it my starter?

We got a flat the other night...I've heard conflicting reports, with some people saying that as long as we aren't racing it's ok...some have said that any repair is unsafe and the tire needs to be replaced immediately...some have said that it lowers the rating...and the car will only be safe to drive at 120 instead of 160...we don't drive 120 anyway. Is there anyone who can help?

My 3 year old must have dropped a penny into the sealt belt holder (you know the part you fasten the seat belt into) and I can NOT get it out. Any suggestions? I moved her to the middle b/c it will not click at all and our baby is on the other side. Just asking for tips so I won't have to go to the dealership and be charged a fortune for something that will probably take them 5 minutes! Thanks! If it helps with answering, I have a Ford Explorer-'04.

I'm so close to accessing the timing belt on my 88 accord. Last step is to remove the crankshaft pulley but I can't loosen the bolt. Can someone tell me how to hold the pulley tight while trying to unscrew the pulley bolt? this car is an automatic so the crankshaft just spins. How can I lock the crankshaft or pulley in order to get this bolt loose?

My dad and I purchased a 1995 Mercury Mystique with a rebuilt engine. A few weeks after we bought it, the transmission broke. Needless to say we are suing the person who sold it to us. But, I'm wondering if I should get the transmission rebuilt. Would it be worth it. It seems like a nice car, not too many miles for the year it is and it ran great til the tranny broke?

I've just bought a VW Polo from a dealer (hoping that would help!). Was fine the first day, drove for about 40 miles with no problem. Then took it on the motorway from Manchester to London. After 100 miles after stopping at a service station, made a grating noise when restarted the engine. Noise occurs in neutral and when driving but disappears when the clutch is pressed. Breakdown people came and asked me to top up engine oil - which did make the noise go away. But then as I was coming into London the grating noise started again. The second breakdown recovery man said it could be something to do with the clutch bearing or gearbox but wasn't sure and I had to take it to a garage. Help! It's gonna cost me isn't it- well gutted as the 3 month warranty has so many exclusions that I'm sure it's not covered.

I recently went to AutoZone and they checked my battery and alternator. They said the alternator was fine, but it seemed like the battery may have had a cell to go out in it. I replaced the battery and the battery light went off and stayed off the whole way home. When I started my vehicle today, which is a 1997 jeep cherokee 4wd 6 cylinder 4.0, the battery light came on within minutes. I made it all the way to work, which is 20 miles away.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

This was a very short article regarding Easy Down struts for the tailgate on pick up trucks made by Stabilus and for sale on the internet for $70.00. Threw away the paper by mistake that day and would like to get a reprint of that article.

I have a 95 yj 4.0. Recently I have gone to start and it will only turn over and not fire. If i leave the Key on for 10-15 min it will start. inside of that time frame i can hear what i believe to be the fuel relay"clicking" after that it will fire. If i shut it off its back to square one. I have switched the relays around and it doesnt apper to be any different with any of them. Is the culprit the fuel pump? what else could it be? I need help please. Thanx
**Please Note**
It also has a JET Performance chip that has not caused any known problems, dont know if this helps. It is regularly maintained.

I have everything on my truck monitored (egt's, engine temp, trans temp, ect) and they all act in their usual manner but just a couple days ago I noticed that randomly during my drive to work my engine temp would jump up 70+ degrees. I checked my coolant level and it seemed good and my truck didn't perform differently so I wasn't too concerned about it but it is out of the ordinary so I thought I'd see if anyone had any ideas as to what could be causing this and what I may have overlooked. Thanks!

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi and when I am traveling and I get to a place where the elevation is 5000 Feet and above my check engine light comes on. The dealer says they are unable to get the error code reading because when the light goes out the error code is erased. The light will stay on for a couple of days if I keep my truck above the 5000 ft level but if I get below the 5000 ft level and shut my truck of for 30 min. to 1 hour the light goes off so I have no way of getting it to the dealer while the light is on. Does any one know of something I can replace on my own that might fix this problem
