I have a 4 prong plug 220 that came with my generator. On the generator is a 4 prong OUTLET. Now trying to ask this may be confusing but what do i do with that plug? Can i use it to wire a cord on it.? It came with the generator but i do not know what it is used for or how to use it? One end is 4 prongs on plug other end has a hole in it.

Likely a type L14-20 or L14-30 outlet. You can use it to connect the generator to a transfer panel, or to several duplex outlets for extension cords.
I have information about home generator connection on my web page which may help you understand better.

The 4 prong plug is used to connect your 220 volt to a cable of about 10 gage 4 wire so that you do not hook your wires in the wrong way. 2 of the hot wires go on certian parts of the plug that are for power and then 1 goes to your neutral and then 1 goes to your ground. Just do it right and you will have no problem good luck.
