I work in this kinda industry and i can( could ) tell you how much mark up they put on , the people who own those companys are fatcats .
You pay for all the big adverts in the paper , on the telly, uniforms, posters. Try the small independant trader, youll probably find it a lot lot cheaper., have more experience , happier to help.
The car accessories Chains are exactly the same.

They have theri uses, their Centaur supreme tyres used to have an accidental damage guarantee so if you wrecked a 10% worn tyre you only paid 10% for a new one, real useful as I kept wrecking sidewalls in Scotland.
Otherwise they sell rubbish exhausts which cost 3 to 5% extra fuel and charge a fortune. Bosal exhausts, I had one from Bells at Swindon recently are cheaper better and get better MPG than stock, likewise tyres, Courier by Pirelli are great, about £ 30 and do 25 K miles, that is Kwil fit Budget territory and theirs need rebalancing after 10 K and wear uneven unless you keep fiddling with the alignment.
My advice for Kwik fit is go elsewhere.

You should shop around the independent garages. But be careful some of these chaps know how to charge also. If your a stranger in an area go to the local motor factor shop bye washer fluid and ask bye the way.If your from a city go to the country, save at least 20%.

Yes, and don't be tempted to go for the "budget" tyres - they provide very poor grip in wet weather.
I've noticed that the headline price for tyres does not include the cost of valves and balancing.
Shop around, there's far better around.

Tyre centers particularly do tyres yet branch out into different aspects. so as that they could additionally do exhausts jointly as the automobile is on the ramps. a rapid provider is barely a clear out exchange and oil exchange which returned is user-friendly while on the ramps. yet once you like something diagnosing, terrific take it on your close by storage. The have all the specialized kit!
