Anybody know why your brake lights would work when your headlights are off, but not work when the headlights are on, after you just replaced the fuse for the brake light?

I've got major issues with this, because not only does it consume way more fuel when doing this, it also gets dangerous when trying to stop on a wet road. I've replaced the IAC sensor, TPS, checked all vacume lines, checked fuel lines for leaks, replaced air filter, checked; PCV, hose, and filter, replaced Fuel Injector, and replaced MAP Sensor. All that's left are the ECM and EGR valve...
I checked the EGR though and it sputters and dies when you fully open it by hand, and by diagnostic logic, that means it works. The only other problem as far as engine performance goes is when it isn't idling at 6k rpm it either idles right, or doesn't idle period. There's supposedly a sensor on the engine that tells the transmission when to mechanically "lock-up" but as far as I can tell it doesn't lock-up ever...

I drive a 99 Mazada Millennia S. Every since I bottomed out going over a railroad crossing, my car has been making the aforementioned sound while accelerating until the automatic transmission changes gears, until I try to speed up again which is when it will return. I haven't noticed that the preformance is any different than before but I only started driving it a few days before hand. I tried to add more oil and it didn't seem to help. The engine is supercharged if that means anything. I'm sorry if I'm being vauge but I am a novice when it comes to cars.

I have a 99 alero, and have a question that hopefully someone can answer. Recently, started this week, my car has been making a humming/buzzing noise. It sounds like its coming from the drivers side, and it is not the muffler (even thought at first I thought it was...just to give you an idea of what the noise sounds like) I then began to think it was because my tires were low on air, but those got pumped up and the noise is still there. The noise doesn't start until about 35-40 mph, and gets really loud from 40-50, but then quiets down to a muffled buzz at all the rest of the higher mph. I know this is proably hard to diagnose, but any guesses would be GREATLY appreciated.

Keeping my fingers crossed it isn't anything too pricey.

I always get screwed at the garage because I know nothing about cars and I am female. What is an average price for replacing a thermostat? I know they are really cheap to buy and only take about 10 minutes to fix.

Just bought a 2000 Saab 9-5 SE with 95K and I drive mostly highway miles. Will I harm the engine if I follow the Saab Manual advice to change filter and oil every 10K? Seems a bit long. I've seen many postings on the web from auto technicians recommending changing oil every 4K and I'm wondering if semi-synthetic last longer than regular motor oil.

Also, the manual calls for fully synthetic or semi-synthetic oil, would regular oil be okay if I change it every 4,000 miles?

How about the tensioner? Are replacing these items overkill at this mileage. I drive 12,000km a year and vehicle is well cared for.

My 03 Cavilier is showing a "PO171" trouble code fuel system too lean bank 1. Will this cause the car to not run/start. It was at times stalling but always restarted first turn of the key. Now it won't even run at all. No codes showed up until the car quit.

My friend's car can hardly to up an incline of 25 degrees even with no other passenger than the driver, and he not having to use first gear. You change gears (its standard shift) ath the bottom of the hill, and with enough momentum which should take it up such hill but as you press the accelarator it just crawls and you have to make first gear in time otherwise it will stop and roll back.
