i own a shop, and you,ll need to pull the water pump,,and everything in the front of the engine,,once this is done,,you have to remove the bottom pulleys and the harmonic balancer,,then remove the timing cover,,once there you,ll see the chain and gears ,,line the timing marks up,,if it hasn't jumped timing,,and the remove the gears and the chain together,,once all this is done install the gears and chain so that the timing marks face each other,,and then you can tighten the blots that hold the top gear to the cam,,then start putting it back together,,take your time with it,,your going to need a good repair manual with it,,to do this job right..it sounds easy,,but its harder than you think it is,,a good manual will help you a lot on this one,,good luck hope this help,s.

If you are going to do this yourself, you should get a manual with step-by-step instructions...there are a lot of things to remove, and a couple of special tools you'll need. ( a puller to remove the harmonic balancer, for one). You have to basically strip the front of the engine to get at it, and pay attention to which bolts and spacers go where... some of the bolts are different lengths. I would recommend a Chiltons manual, or at least, a friend who has done this before. (definately not a job for the timid)
