I have a 96 Chevy Lumina, 130k miles. We have been going through coolant like crazy, and we checked our oil and it was brown and thick...almost like peanut butter. We took it in for an oil change and the tech made a note that said "moisture of some kind in oil". Its running much more smoothly after the oil change (it was chugging a lot), but someone said it may be problem with our head gaskets? Anyone have this problem or an idea what is wrong? THANKS!

Hello all! I have a multifunction switch on my 2000 Buick. Cruise control, turn signals, hazards and wipers all function on it. Everything is working right now except my turn signals. They were working intermittently yesterday and now they don't work at all (which can obviously be a dangerous thing). This is my only vehicle. Does anyone have suggestions of things I can try before replacing the switch? It costs like $400!

I don't know if I need new brakes or what is going on. Is one of them sticking? I have no problems stopping. I just noticed the noise within the last week. It is almost continuous and the part that confuses me the most is that I don't hear it when I brake. I only hear it when the car is moving. Yet, it seems to be coming from the front driver side somewhere. What could be going on? I have a '99 Saturn 3-door Coupe model with 102,000.

I have a 2002 Buick Rendezvous, I have had it for about 3 yrs now. An orange light keeps coming on saying "AWD Dissabled". At 1st it felt like my brakes were going bad when the light was not on, but after the light came on it drives perfect. At 1st it used to take a long time for the light to come on, after I was driving the vehicle, but now the light comes on as soon as I turn the vehicle on. I have taken it to fix to different mechanics, but they don't seem to know what the problem is. I even took it to the Buick dealer and they charged me $400. and they fixed it for a few days and then the light came back on. No matter what, the light saying "AWD Dissable" is aways on now.

Does anyone with this kind of car has the same problem? I know this car is not that known, especially in New York City. Maybe that is why they don't know how to fix it. I wanted to be unique getting a car that nobody has. LOL Please help.

I drive a 97 Civic DX Coupe. It is at almost 120,000 miles. Contrary to popular belief and what mechanics would have you believe, the user manual provided my the manufacturer clearly advises the timing belt replacement at 120,000.
I left my job more than an year ago to go back to school and am about to graduate in about 4 months. While a preventive timing belt replacement would be, ideal I am too poor to be able to afford one. I want to know if there are any warning signs that I could lookout for to know that it is failing ? Any advice would be greatly welcome.

Thanks !!

P.S. The car spent its' earlier years in the North-East and has running in Texas now since the last year and a half.

my jeep grand cherokee will startoff with good oil pressure but then when i start driving the oil pressure drops to zero. i just had my oil changed twice and the oil comes out black . and i had both oil changes done in the same week. a 5 day span between. the first time i had it changed the place that changed it did a sludge removal. what i think is happening is some sludge was forced down to the oil pan and its clogging the oil pump. i was also wondering the difficulty of droping the oil pan and changing the oil pump

Then after about 10 minutes or so it will stay idle and won't stall. Why does this seem to be happening to me. It also seems to be happening more frequently. Please help me understand why and what I can do to prevent this from happening. Thanks!

I have a 1998 Chevy truck that only has 24,000 miles on it. Isn't this too early for the rotors needing to be resurfaced or replaced? I can feel it when I break hard at a stop light. Thanks.
