Sounds like you would be better off replacing the battery. If it really is happening, you have a short, it could be a bigger problem than just disconnecting the battery.

I've seen a lot of people say the radio was draining the battery, and it hardly ever happens. Even if the radio is stuck on for some reason, the battery should last for a week. Check the battery voltage when the engine is running. It should be around 14 volts. You probably need a new battery. The fact that it can start the truck doesn't tell you anything about how long it will last.

unlikely unless the radio has a serious short to ground, your vehicle computor actually uses more power to keep alive than the radio. you have another problem. start with getting the battery load tested, most parts stores can do this, then go from there

How do you know it's the radio? The memory hold circuit doesn't really take much at all. Are you sure it's not a lamp that is staying on, like in the glove box or engine compartment?

first off, your checking for drain the wrong way. You need a multimeter with AMPS to measure the amount of amperage flowing in order to check drain. Your on the right side, you always check the negative side but you cannot use a test light. The lowest amount of amperage drain is .30mA So if you connect a test light to it, it should still light up
