hello i blew my engine(350 5.7 liter Vortec)

i know its recomended that i replace with a vortec but will engines from later years work (ie 1970s, early 80s)

i am aware that it wont pass smog with a later engine but as long as its in my name it does not matter i just need to know if they will fit in my truck

My serpantine V-Belt is still intact and I do not hear any whistleing on hissing noises from any leaking vaccuum hoses. The brakes seem to stop relatively well but it takes a great deal of force. Could it still be a vaccuum problem or is there something else going on?

The rot is mostly contained to the driver's side in the rear panel of the truck on the underside of the body. There's a fairly wide space (about a square foot) to be filled and I'm looking to patch it myself, but I'm not sure what kind of materials I should use. I have some extra floor tiles left over from a house project...I was thinking of tacking one or two to the body and going over it with Bondo or something, being careful to use rust converter. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

We've just bought a 03 reg rover 25... and while on the motorway next to the clock we noticed a little light come on that looks like a triangle with the top missing divided into 3 sections.. I'll try and draw it to give you an idea of what it looks like... what is it????? The car didn't come with a manual so we're clueless!

Just recently I have noticed that i do need to change my brakes. I know this because they are squeling. Could this be the problem? When I first got the car I had the rods and struts replaced. This has been about two years ago. What else could the problem be? CV Joints, ball joints? And if so, what would the price range be to get it fixed? Thanks!

Put new cap and rotor (old ones trashed rotor was worn so bad it was loose) new fule filter. Put some high octane in it I thought it helped but then it got worse cutting out more and dose not want to start back up let it sit for like 20 min and it will run again. Fule pump? Ing mod.? Crap in tank?

Since my car is no longer under warranty, and it has turned 100K , I wonder if a new or rebuilt exasperator should be used for replacement. My new mechanic recommends getting a new one as the rebuilt ones are not usually reliable. The new one will cost about $250 plus labor but the rebuilt one costs only $175. Any experience or advice concerning this matter?

My SUV comes with 215/70R16 Bridgestone or Yokomaha tires. But they suffer from aqua-planning. The shops recomended upgrading to 17" rims and tyres, but that is too costly. So the next size with good aqua-thread is 225/60R16 Kumho KH11 tires. Besides the effect of lowering my car by 34mm, what other possible disadvantage will the smaller tires post?
