you need a new fan clutch, depending on the car it will be either sold seperatly or sold built onto the fan itself

Your car is overheating because you don't have enough air flow over the radiator. When the car is moving 60 miles an hour down the road, there is more air flowing through the radiator. When you stop the car, the air flow is reduced. The problem could be the condensor fan relay, a blown fuse, or a bad fan motor. Check the fuses first. Your owner's manual should have a diagram of what fuse does what. If not, the fuse panel usually has a diagram. If that doesn't fix the problem, have a mechanic look at it. Overheating even a little can cause serious damage to your engine, especially if you have aluminum heads. Good Luck.

yes you need to have that fixed but have the whole cooling system checked. one out of two fans shouldn't cause you to over heat at a red light. one fan comes on when the A/C comes on and the other should cycle on and off depending on ENGINE temp controlled by the sensor. you might have other problems like a clogged radiator or that 5 year coolant seems to be "jelling" so don't use it and some company's used it from the factory. you want to remove that.

SAME exact thing happening to me! I also think it is the auto sensor. But I will be getting it checked out very soon! And will be watching this question!

Oh yeah! And I love it that if you don't know everything about cars people talk to you like an idiot. Why is it that some people think they know everything?

Dude, you need to get the fan working, it's obiously getting hotter at the light cause air is no being forced over the compressor when you've stopped moving.

Sheesh !!
